    Hi everybody,
I would be interested to make impulse responses from or with the Omnisphere Innerspace FX;but I don't know how I could achieve that.I find Innerspace nice, and it could be cool to use its IR with some convolution reverbs on others synths or drums,or voices.

I've never recorded any IR.I've read some pages from internet and I saw some people using sine sweeps, some others with white noises. But from a tone generator.
Which one is better and why,a sine sweep or a white or pink noise? If you do it with a sine sweep, which frequency(-ies)?

I understand the different steps if you want to make an IR from an amp or a recorded space, but I wonder how I could make an IR from a synthesizer. Is it doable?

I've tried to make a sine sweep with Omnisphere with an envelope modulating the pitch (from one oscillator, simple sine wave, and pitch tracking disabled),with just Innerspace.I've duplicated this track and disabled Innerspace on this second Omnisphere.I've inverted the phase on this second track to make a phase cancellation.
But the final result is not what I expected,I hear the sine sweep in the reverberated sound.

I would know to do that,if you have any idea?

    Thanks you very much.

I remember voxengo having a free program to create impulses.

I've already been on their site before posting this thread,I've seen this plugin, but I don't think it could be usefull for making an IR from a synthesizer.
If the FX version of Omnisphere existed,it wouldn't a problem to make an IR from it.But Omnisphere exists only as an instrument.

.. you wouldn't need to make an impulse. :winker:
Jokes aside, maybe this works better with a veery short white noise sound? On principle the method you used is correct, afaik.

On a video I watched the guy told that he used a 1 sample length white noise, automating a tone generator.
    But in S1 I can't write a 1 sample midi note!...

No Omnisphere sound with a pure noise? Just make the amp's decay phase (ADSR) as short as possible, then the note's lenght doesn't matter.

Sorry for my late reply. That's what I've tested today, with a white noise, and attack, decay, sustain and release at 0,and when I render in audio that make a 1 sample length sound.Perfect! That work in this way,you don't listen the white noise in the tail of the reverb.
But I've tried with a duplicated Omnisphere and make phase cancellation in order to delete the "Dry" white noise in my tail but that doesn't work, the Omnisphere envelopes are not enough accurate in time for a so short signal, their imprecision makes impossible a phase cancelation.

But in the end you don't really hear the white noise in the tail,it's too short.
Nice experience,I will make an IR sample pack of this Innerspace.

Nice to hear that it finally worked.

I'd try a pink noise too and compare the results, maybe it's more convenient (could sound more natural).
