I have tried changing the VST, Component and the main app in the app folder, but in Ableton it still reads at Kontakt 5. I would like to change it so that Ableton and Logic recognise it as something else, so hopefully I can run a different version of Kontakt 5 alongside.

The code of the plugin registers the name, you can't just change the filename.

Also, changing the plugin ID will mean your settings won't load with a different Kontakt plugin name, as the host will see it as a completely different plugin.

If you want to run multiple versions, the easiest things to do is have the VST be one version, and the AU be a different version, and choose which you load in Ableton (which supports both formats) as necessary. No plugin hacking required...
