I've been looking around Ample AGM III and there were many changes. The most impressive part was that you can choose the type of guitar between acoustic and electric!! Which means you don't need other guitar plug-ins anymore.

What do you think? Do you still need other ample guitars or this one can cover any guitar plug-ins even electric guitars?

I do not know where you've read this but I can definetely say no, it's an acoustic guitar and an acoustic guitar can not sound like an electric guitar. :dunno:

    There is probably an misunderstanding.

Couln't find any choice on the product page.

Even if AGM III had this choice, one acoustic and/or one electric guitar won't be able to replace all the others.

I mean if you use an amp simulator. In my opinion, guitar vst is also one of the synth sounds.

If you send an acoustic guitar vsti through an amp emu, it would sound similar to an e-guitar (works also with celli), but not like one.
Also, if you listen to the various vstis at ample sound, you will recognize that they all sound different. No way to reproduce any e-guitar with an accoustic one, or the sound of a single-coil with a humbucker exactly.

Like the others have said, you can absolutely mic an acoustic guitar and pass it through and amp. Some are even built with a convenient mic in the bottom. But the sound and timbre is still the same, if you do clean leads it sounds nice, but try to do powerchord palm-mutes with an extreme high gain metal ampsim and the fabric of the universe will rip itself apart... kind of

Than you have to look how this sound is modified. There are some build in effects and they're configured that the guitar either sound like a DI e-guitar (what I doubt) or like an amped guitar (where the sound is probably not so good).

So, as already stated three times now. It is not possible to get an reasonable sound of an e-guitar with amp and cab out of an acoustic guitar. :dunno:

I guess this is electrical acoustic guitar not electric guitar. Electrical acoustic have the jack port for direct input into amplifiers. Mostly terrible sound compared to a mic in the room

Do you have installed another Ample Sound Guitar VSTi besides AGM? I've AGM2 and AME2 and the presets are shared.
Though it just could be that those electric guitar presets are provided for the uses other fellas and myself have commented.
