Vst or sample libraries to replace Omnisphere

So I just downloaded Sonic Project’s OPX-PRO II, and I must say it is the cleanest sounding digital synth I’ve ever worked with. I was debating on buying omnisphere, but after installing this gem onto my computer I have been curious about adding some more analogue sounding Vsts or samples to save me the 500$...that may result in even cleaner sounds. Are there any other suggestions? Thank you!

It's obviously not the same category of synths...Omnisphere is ultra powerfull with lots of modulations,FX,waveforms, samples, etc hence super versatile.
OPX Pro sounds awesome but it's limited,it has its own tone and few sound possibilities.

    I think both are complementary.

If you don't want to buy Omnisphere you could check Kontakt but I guess you know it already. But if you go with Kontakt you need to buy sample banks, and in the end it will be expensive as Omnisphere.

    :)

    indeed.

omnisphere is, in my opinion, the best VST synth on the market, hands down.
especially the full version ( omni + trillian + keyscape ), you've got EVERYTHING you need to produce good music, with the greatest sound : everything is here.

a buy you will never regret.

however, I like A.N.A 2 's arpegiator, which is a bit more easy to use than omnisphere with quick results if you like to tweak a little bit.

but replace omnisphere ? : never  I've never been more happy to have this synth since day 1.

I was playing a little bit with the new functionalities of the arpegiator ( the drag & drop to midi ) and it's really useful to layer sounds, even orrchestrals.

the sound-lock / match function is also excellent, the FX section is sick, the Orb, you can control with an ipad...

people were pissed off when keyscape was released, because we all have expectations, but now, everyone wants it : great pianos, organs, collectors, and the creative section is excellent also.

    worth the buy, definitely.

to me, Spire is even better than Serum ( but you must know a bit more about sound design ) , and Aparillo is quite fun to play with.

but what you can do with these last two, you can achieve it with omnisphere.

    so, yeah.. buy it.

You can think about Synapse Dune 3 (will give you even more versetility in both digital and analogue domain), UHE Diva or Synapse The Legend (if you aim at more specific character). But the only synths that can really measure up to Omni are Falcon and Halion6.

For Falcon, I can tell that it is the most versitile and good sounding software instrument I have ever worked with (even more so than Omni... yeah, I could upset some hardcore Omni fans but I think that in this league its more of a personal preference thing and I DO prefer Falcon). The soundware that they are selling in really good bundles and disscounts is probably the best (in terms of sound quality and usability) sampled analogue and digital gear libraries out there.

UHE Zebra can also sound "analoguish" but it requires more understandment in sound design.

I would love to try Falcon, but they do not offer a demo and there is no try-before-buy version.
I never buy software I haven't tried on my System.

Halion and Falcon are way better synths and samplers than Omnisphere (multisamples in it are locked, so only Spectrasonics can release quality third party samples for it, what a scummy company)...
Omni has a very good reputation for no reason (outside of the quantity of the presets, of course).

Actually analogue synths are supposed to be out of tune, noisy and dirty (in a musical manner).
Clean sounds are related to precise digital timbres. Digital can sound dirty and lo-fi, too, if the oscillators and filters are not oversampled.
Most synths released in the last like 5-6-7 years are super clean or have options to sound super clean in expense of high CPU consumption.
I suspect that you are looking for instruments with authentic analogue sounds like OP-X, not really for clean sounds.
The market is already oversaturated with good analogue synths (while it's very rare to find decent FM, additive or some more rare synthesis methods).

Omni 2.6 also have a vast array of improvements including a baddass new Arp.

All synths are "irreplaceable" because they all have their personalities and voices... it's just some of them can speak MANY languages (soundsets) and some are limited in their "speech" and are incapable of "learning more languages". As far as synthesizers go Omnisphere and Zebra 2 have THE most sound sets available to mankind with Sylenth and Serum coming in a close 2nd and 3rd, followed by Diva and possibly Spire and Hive. As far as samplers go... NOTHING compares to Kontakt and it's availability of in-house and 3rd party libraries.

But, I've always said... if I could only have one synth it would Omnisphere but if I could only have one choice in a sound-generating plugin, be it synth or sampler? It would be Kontakt. It's just WAY too versatile, thus valuable..

The whole audio world is obsessed with 'gritty, grainy, dirty' and you are on a quest to find the cleanest synth available. Good for you.

If I could only choose one synth to go with, it would probably be Omnisphere. Very versatile and powerful, yet easy to wrap your head around.

Massive has the most soundsets available.

Which is the cleanest synth available?Omnisphere?
For me Serum is even cleanest.
And which synth plugins are ''gritty, grainy, dirty',for you?

Omnisphere is not clean if you add even a soft clip distortion. Any modern plugin synth offers various distortion types in its FX rack. It is a feature of just about everything on the market. And Serum? Wavetables aren't exactly the definition of purity. Unless the wavetable is a sine wave.

You might like not distorted sounds...If all your sounds have distortion,I find it too much.Music is contrasts.
And yes Serum is ultra clean, but it uses wavetables. It depends on how we define "clean".I say Serum is clean because its "oscillators"(which are wavetables of course) are ultra stable as opposed to vintage synthesizers.

I don't understand what you're trying to say. When did I say "I do not like distorted sounds?" I did not start this topic. Go and have this discussion with Mixtic. Anybody but me.
