Sooo, Im bored. I got wayyy too many tools and can't find a single source of inspiration. What do I do? Lol, Well I been doing this shit off and on for damn near 20 years, and back in the day I cut my teeth on Cubase. So I downgraded to old school Cubase VST/32, lol. I grabbed a few freebie vsti I could find on the net, cool. But I needed a sampler for drums. I tried top go audio only for drums, but Cubase's wave editing abi9lity was abysmal back then. I needed a sampler. I can't find any except for Emagic (logic) exsp24. Its a sample player, but as long as i can get libraries in SoundFont or Akai or native EXS format, I'm good. problem is, I can't get SoundFonts to work for some reason, and none of my ol;d akai discs can be read, so Im stuck with EXS format samples which actually work, but no drum kits. I gots tons of wavs i can use to roll my own kits, but I have no idea how to import/export them as EXS format. Any clue?

30 years for me! Loved EXS24 a lot before Kontakt appeared. The EX is a very powerful sampler. It's way more than a sampler really.
And yes; it can import & convert the Akai CD ROMs too, just sayin'. All on YT, but just open up EXS24, it's easy. Your "old Akai discs" should be read by the EX.
I have ALL of them, and the Roland S Series stuff. Carried them through decades now of constant updating, but they're all still good.

We old-timers, amirite? I'm aware that EXSP can read Akai discs, it's just that none of mine can be read, I think they're too old? Also, I'm using EXSP24 NOT EXS24, it was all I coulda find. I'm tryna keep everything within the period, so since CubVST/32 was dropped in around 2001, I'm keeping all the vsti in the same era, so I'm gettin down with Triangle, Synth 1, Kjaerhus stuff, Delta III from Linplug. And there weren't many samplers from that time period, SampleTank was one, and EXSP (and EXS24!), which are my only options due to the fact that I can't find any other around the net, and I've been hunting.
So I guess I'm hunting for good Akai drum disc images? or as I opened the thread a good way to do it. All the ones on YT show using EXS24, which is the full-fledged big brother of EXSP24, and can do everything. EXSP24, as I noted is a sample PLAYER.
Also, for those that ain't THAT old, yes, I realize I'm looking for LOGICS sampler, but back then Logic was owned by eMagic and they made Logic and their VST's cross-platform!

EDIT: I tried SoundFonts and they don't work either, and they should, they're not on discs. is there a special way to get them to work?

I remember the LinPlug Delta! wow. Yeah, we is old, bruh!
'98+, I was demoing keys in a store, and if we shifted enough Logic packages, we were given a free Logic Platinum! That was like £1,200 back then. Had all the extras, EVP etc. I still have the original Emagic sales brochure!
I dig that you're keeping it all within that period.

So, even if I was to up all my Akai stuff to the sister site, would it still help you if you are using the EXSP24?
I'd have to up them as is, as audio. Haven't got the .iso's anymore.
Although I've just remembered who I gave the original discs to. haha

Also, apparently you could create Soundfonts with your drum samples and drop them into the Soundfont folder and EXSP will read them.
