    I dont know if I'm in the right section but I decided to leave Windows and work on Mac .
    I get some DPC latency on a Win 10 laptop Lenovo z500 Intel i5 @2.60ghz 16go Ram 1To HDD.

    But I got Dpc latency only when I'm using my SSD.

    I got a Mac ready to use, it's a 2.5ghz Intel i5 16go Ram 1To SSd Mojave 10.14.3.

    Is it a good configurations for audio ?

    I use live 8 with some VSts my audio interfaces: M-audio FastTrack Ultra 8r and Roland duo Capture ...for recording my MPc and sometimes voices recording.

    I Hope that Dpc latency don't exist on Mac.

    I thought nobody went from Windows to Mac anymore. I know a lot of people changing from Mac to Windows (understandable so). That being said I don't think there is much to gain in latency numbers jumping from one OS to another with the same hardware. You could be lucky that the drivers for your audio interface is better written on Mac
    Latency is something all struggles with. There is no one setting does it all, it's all about finding the balance between KHz and buffer size for live recordings while using heavy plugins. The solution is to freeze tracks while recording live then you can get very low overall latency numbers without clicks and pops.
    Mixing and mastering is no problem then you just up the buffer size to 512 or higher.

    Hi
    MOJAVE on my MacBook Pro I9 2019...work like a charm...and in winter, not need a heating system, the thing is warming well!
    Seriously, works really great and I'm sure your system is well enough to run all what you need to make good sounds!
    Enjoy your new set up!
    PS: think of TIME MACHINE to back up your 1 TB SSD...regurlarly!

    Did you buy a mac or was it something you already owned? Tbh you could just hackintosh the Lenovo?

    I hacked a Asus ROG gaming laptop which is so much better than a oem Mac and at 1/3 the price. IMO I would never buy a Mac again although I have a MacPro which I will not be replacing.

    Could be driver related. Intels Rapid store drivers could cause that. Good thing is noone needs them, your system would be fine with the MS drivers. I don't think switching a whole universe instead of finding the cause for the glitch is the best idea to solve that. DPC latency mon does show what component is resposible, so what does it say?

    I already own the Mac Book,
    Why I dont hackintosh it's because Dpc latency are drivers problems...DPC Mon yes, this software Can help you see which drivers cause Dpc spikes( too much like storageDrivers,USb,drivers,NVIDIA,network drivers,wifi drivers)...but like I said first,it's only when I'm using SSD , My Pc Win 10 is well on HDD.

    My question was just to know if Mac os with my configuration is suitable for Real Time audio.
    Cause my Pc on SSD is not ....

    Ho No it help it a lot , it boot really fast a Can copy en past huge data , Ableton open really fast so, yeah the system performance it's better on SSD for Real, but for me with my system the audio performance is not good, I will call Crucial cause it's my SSd and Ram brand for more informations.

    Link I gave u is re. fake Crucial I had to fit for a client...

    I hope u are only using SSD as OS drive, and record to a separate scratch drive...

    Good luck with Crucial Support call-centre! (see link I gave u) lol

    Hey I'm impressed with the macbook's power, and was thinking of upgrading from my trashcan mac pro (with a screen) to the i9 macbook, but was concerned about the FANS. How loud do they get for you during music production/mixing or tracking?

    yes, there is nothing like DPC latency in MacOS by design;
    realtime audio performance really depends on your audio interface drivers, regardless of Win/Mac;
    in case you'd need more performance for virtual instruments later, just build a PC and run Vienna Ensemble Pro server on it and offload your instruments from Mac rig
    :invision:
    @e-minor you can wait few months for new Mac Pro, it's likely Apple will unveil something in June this year
    @Daskeladden I went from Win to Mac too (genuine MBP but also hackintosh) as it's significantly less hassle and more time can be spend on anything useful instead troubleshooting Win issues; I have some W10 2019 LTSC as dualboot
