its the cheap amplifiers used inside the active speakers.
Today mostly D Class which have a high chopperfrequency which is filtered by simple lowpasses.
The amplifiers of a lets say 500$ active Speaker is manufactured at max 50 $ basis.
ANY Amplifier makes noises, its usually hum (50Hz/60Hz) and hiss (highfrequency noise like white noise).
For real High End use u need expensive pwoersupplys and good shielding.
Go and check HiFi Poweramps they start at 500$ with decent quality.
I NEVER use any active Electronics inside any speaker.

 

Well done Nico, had the same noise problem, couldn't work out what was going on, until i read your post about WiFi, turns out I moved the router temporarily and indeed it was the WiFi interfering, moved the router - problem solved.

Hey guys, I have a similar problem. I'm hearing a noise when my monitors connected to my audio interface which is Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 but when I pluck it from the audio interface or shut down the computer. There is no problem with the noise, it goes away. I've tried to change usb port which connected my audio interface and try to use different plug for my computer. For extra information. I've 2 balanced monitor cable and I'm using Philips SPP3080D/17 Home Electronics Surge Protector with 8 Outlets.

I'll try it. I hope it works but I've already use balanced monitor cables, is it all about the cables because when I shutdown my computer and open the monitors there is no problem. Thank you very much by the way

Have you tried singing lessons? Or maybe use Melodyne

 

I had the very same speakers and had the same issue. Due to the shielding structure of them (according to a Yamaha Engineer whom I have asked), it makes the speakers very sensitive to the electricity current. A very simple solution (as well as cheap) to my problem was to get one these and connect JUST the speakers on it. I suspect that by connecting the speakers on such a long extension lead, you are basically creating a coil on which the electricity current takes time to travel, thus it eliminates the noise in it. That solved my problem permanently
