good day guys i have the program in question but I am having a problem installing it. its omni 2.5 with trillian keycape and stylus. but the sound bank for it is 196 gb and too big for my hard drive so i have it on an external. the installation instructions are saying i HAVe to install it on my HD first then I can move it.

any help would be appreciated.

 

Should work by placing an alias named 'STEAM' in HD / Users / USERNAME / Library / Application Support / Spectrasonics that leads to the STEAM folder containing all the libraries in your external hard drive. If there is no Spectrasonics folder there just create one.

hey @Bullcount I have spent an entire 8 hours trying to get Omnisphere installed on my MacBook Pro with no success.. The installer never asks me to direct it to the .iso files so I have manually installed & corrected permissions on them - still get error in Omnisphere about write permissions..

@Bullcount I think I've got a pretty good grasp of how to get Omnisphere installed, the one thing I can't figure out is how to properly merge all the STEAM folders together on my desktop. When I copy over certain files (it seems to be the .db files), an error occurs: "The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code 110000)."

Any ideas?

I moved the STEAM directory to my external hard drive on my mac according to the instructions on their website. But now when I want to open Omnisphere in Fl it says: 'Unable to access plugin folder at /Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics/STEAM/Omnisphere. Check folder permissions'. I changed the permissions but I'm still getting this message. I updated Omnisphere as well so maybe that is causing the problem. I just don't know

Not sure you moved STEAM as per instructions; your SAGE and STEAM folders in User Library/Application Support, should now be alias folders, right?

 

Yes I did that exactly. Maybe I messed something up with the updates? I swapped the original folder with the alias folder and tried using Omnisphere again but it's now asking for a response code... So I'm just going to reinstall Omnisphere and we will see.
