I basically have huge distrust to "magic" plugins but I must admit the GullFoss EQ has indeed convinced me to a degree I have to surrender.

What do you think?

Looking forward to see what they´re able to do next time.

Love the snake oil vids! even though he shits on some of my favorite plugins he is so entertaining to watch

 

well, at first I was impressed by the plugin.
but still didn't really found a place for it, and where I did use it in the past, I removed it after reviewing it later on

 

He never reads plugin manual and bashing them.

 

I find it always sounds good with the first two options around 20-30ish, but then backing those down to 10-ish instead. Doing very subtle moves, 1-2db. And closing in the range it works so it's not trying too much in the really low and highs. But letting it focus from 200hz-4k helps control some things.

Any other way I use it just sounds like a smiley eq. Or the reverse of that.

 

I haved a doubts about this plugin ,but once i tried it i like how sounds. I am not so familiar with plugin a 100% , it works good on master bus and with some tweaking you can get subtle and precisse eqing there . It is very good plugin which makes worfklow a lot faster.For me is go to vst from now on. By the way this guy from Snake oil videos make me to try this vst. Maybe i am wrong but Sonible smarteq2 does same thing but for me smarteq is better on single tracks rather on master bus where this plugin makes miracles

 

Been "playing" with this plug several hours today with various sounds and my conclussion untill now is:

This isnt a really a "normal" eq. It´s more like a mastering/finalizing tool and it does it really good!

And I´m still i love with my Fabfilter Q3

 

That's what makes it so funny. He trolls developers so hard.

 

I can't stand that guy. He's an idiot looking for attention and provocation and who doesn't even read the manuals before he tries something, and always whines about faults without trying to understand the plugin. And he's just not funny.
