Anyone recommend some basic, cheap synthesizer or with all things like in Sylenth1. Basic Waves, Sin, Square, Triangle, Sawtooth, Noise, Filters Cutoff, Modulation LFO, Chorus, Reverb, Delay etc.
    Cheers :)

Sylenth is polyphonic 16 voices,2 multimode filters and FXs.A hardware synth with these features won't be cheap.Look at the Access Virus TI snow,I think it will be the less expensive.

    Virus a, b, c, classic, ti snow
Maybe waldorf stuff such as microQ, blofeld, pulse,; novation nova/supernova/ultranova, clavia nord rack 2x or bit newer.
So, older models are second handed, can be bought too cheap. Sound module desktop, rack or so. No need for buying keyboard version, too expensive. It is enough too have one midi keyboard/controller (49 keys or more).

I don't know all these but i had the Nord Rack2 and it has only one low pass filter and 4 voices of unison and no FX.And actually it doesn't sound much better than the plugin version, the DiscoDSP DiscoveryPro.But the plugin version has more features.

A Virus is just another box with a chip, a display and some jacks.
If you have sylenth1, you don't need another one of those.

The FM sound different to the real NordRack, last time I treid DiscoveryPro the FM sounds more like antialising than FM.

...and Software has a much more convenient Routing and Modulation option. I am so happy that I sont have to use a microQ or a virus again :)

Hm, Virus TI is way more capable than Sylenth1 - it has graintable, formant and wavetable synthesis, right?, but you are right that it's just another digital synth. More fair comparison would be Zebra2, Electra2, Synthmaster and similar.

If the OP's want some analogue synth with the same spec's as Sylenth, well, that won't be cheap, probably has to be custom built, unless he is as rich, I don't think he can afford it...

Schmidt is somewhat close - and it's ( or was) 20 000 euro.

Seriously, high end hardware analogue synths offer like 8 voices polyphony, Sylenth offers 512 max. There is no comparison. Trance was invented in the 90s thanks to digital synths, don't dream about analogue edm machnines, unless you are the next Hans Zimmer, JXL and similar people that can actually afford it.

yep, thats right, thats why, for example; Lexicon produced their Lexichip - its just a chip...´well its just a chip with some jacks in a box, just like our shitty small soundcard we have in our computers - it sounds the same ;-)

I would recommend waldorf blofeld desktop as a [crazily] cheap synth with loads of features [including wavetables} and great sound, loads of synthesis options, a bit buggy but great fun, especially with edisyn free patch editor. Having owned loads of hardware in the past and then working ITB for years, chips, displays and jacks are quite nice for inspirational purposes and shaking up the screen based work...

You get what you pay for. Love my Nord Electro 6. Sounds amazing through 2 mackie 15" Thumps. Have Arturia keys in my laptop for MIDI add ons.

This is so true! All digital synth are using DSP and processors.

@Roject If you want to go live just get a laptop, a midi keyboard, and an audio interface.

This one is a great option but not really cheap (around $1300) as suggested by the OP.

  21. Good hardware is never cheap. This is the cheapest you can get to good. I suppose there's always a Behringer Deepmind 6 but that would just be a good way of wasting what you can afford rather than waiting. I can find a B-Stock 8 voice for a thousand semolians. Reverb would be good place to start.
