Bit too much wah in my opinion. You should trust people who actually play guitar when we say the playing is what gives the most funky vibe. Hence in your case i think you might want to focus more on the right samples since you don't play, real funky riffs, then add your effects but funk isn't really known for abusing effects as much as rock could, a good clean tone and some lightfooted wah if you wish and you're there. Then it's up to you to add anything else to get your own print on it .

Where did hell did you come up with that idea?
The wah-wah wasn't even invented when James Brown's guitar players (Jimmy Nolen & Catfish Collins) were grooving the funkiest grooves EVER, to this day!

If you want funky-ass guitar... then PM me and I will personally play and record for ANY funky rhythm part you want... (one time) for free.

I was a 22-year session guitarist from Los Angeles and I played and/or recorded guitar parts for everyone from George Clinton to Prince...

Thank you for the correction on his name. Nile is totally awesome as a funk guitarist.

Are you sure his Strat is a billion dollars and not his hands making his ordinary Strat sound like a billion dollars?

i might be off here, and i'm not feeling so good atm so that may be influencing my response, but i believe that funk is a feeling, in its broadest term..
itsa not really a genre..there's no such thing as funk guitar...if it fits and moves you then play it/find a sample.
i hate this idea of funk as being a particualr sound..its myopic and detrimental to music..even ampsims have what they think is a "funk" preset and its pretty horrible and unusable in most cases.
maybe listen to free your mind and your ass will follow by funkadelic (thats them in my avatar)...they were quite influential and their guitar player, Eddie Hazel didn't really go anywhere near a funk preset.
how about taking how you feel when you listen to those tracks you've listed, and using that feeling to do your music?

Not literally a billion dollars, of course. The Six Million Dollar Man only had $5,364,168.45 of parts and labor invested in the technology to put him back together. No known miracles have been performed within the boundary of LA's Miracle Mile and any guitar is only worth what some crazy person is willing to pay for bragging rights.

I had heard a quote of that billion dollar line some time ago so searched for its origin. I was actually wrong, I lowballed it.

Of course its his hands and soul and not the guitar itself.

I admit that in the context of my statement that I was never anything but 100% informative. I felt that I needed to educate you on the fine line between literal and figurative statements and creative usage, reading between the lines and using humor as a way to get a point across as you didn't seem to understand my posts. All's well that ends well.

You 'admit' that you are 100% informative?! WTF? Hahaha :rofl:You ARE crazy!
By your posts, you know sweet f.a. about sound engineering and music theory.
You 'feeling' you need to correct somebody, when it's you who needs the correction (everybody can see this) is what I personally find stupid, if not offensive. Mostly stupid assumptions though! You must be a troll.
You have read between the lines and created nonsense, without the use of any humour as far as I can see.
You 'thinking' I "didn't seem to understand your posts" is your misconception. I understand you know f.a.!

Hopefully I can block you before you respond, because you're obviously a troll, or just plain stupid.

You are wrong on every assumption you have erroneously mentioned about me and actually are fulfilling your own definition of trolling by being argumentative for no apparent reason and by attacking me by calling me a liar (the *BS* bit of your post) as well as other juvinille name calling in this current post. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE block me.

Yes I was focused on how to get a funk sound with out playing a real guitar. It's very hard.
I guess you missed that from what I was saying.
