No BS. DO you think that the DI added much to the sound after the compressor? We are talking outboard effects here. And about his Strat, do some mental math and add up the album sales, radio plays and everything dollars that quitar had a hand in pumping out and it will come up probably around there, perhaps $1,000,000,000, and even if it is just half that, round it up because it sounds cool. Do a search of the incredible amount of success he has had with major label artists and be blown away. He is a treasure and so is that guitar.

All the people here say that funk guitars are clean and etc. but you clearly hear the wah filter in any funk song

BS, Lois. U can't run a guitar into a pedal and straight into a desk. Period. It HAS to go through a D.I. box after pedal.
Do I google Niles, or Nile?? lol
If u're gonna name-drop, at least get the name correct! lol
Yeah, 'mental math' is usually best.
His guitar is worth whatever he paid for it. Not:-
    , sorry.

    @Elnur Magerramov Hi.
Nobody asked u if u meant rhythm guitar or solo!
Your question is like "how long is a piece of string".
Of course, lots of palm-muted wah parts exist. Knowing the funk as I do, I'd say fx are irrelevant.
Nile's rhythm parts, which is all he can really do (unlike the person I got the plectrum from in my avatar, Prince's guitarist Levi Seacer Jnr), are clean and compressed. Period. Probably EQ'd slightly, of course.

Uh, in any funk song where the guitar has wah, yeah.
But when Jimmy Nolen and 'Pink' (St. Clair Pinckney) where playing together, Jimmy would be clean rhythm, and Pinckney might have a slight wah, but the parts were syncopated, doing very different things. Usually panned opposite sides.
Syncopation beats fx in funk, any day.

Yeah, maybe. I will not and can`t argue, because I don`t know about guitars much, I would even say I know nothing about guitars, I just like, how funk sounds and always dreamed about making funk, when I started making music :)

@Elnur Magerramov Man , I like the fx on the bass! Is that Waves GTR too?
Uh, I think u need to check out Orange Tree Samples. A lot more playable straight out the box for you.
I bet if you swapped out what ever is doing that 'lead' (NOW we know! lol!) wah guitar part with anything from OTS (Stratosphere) you will be happier.
    And so will I!

AH! So u haven't yet tried NI's Scarbee Funk Guitarist then? Well...don't. It does strumming, but really clunky imo.
Orange Tree Samples does everything; rhythm and lead.
And the biggest secret of all...AMPLE SOUND guitars.
Thank me after you've heard them! U won't be disappointed.
    Just gis a 'like', eh?

Actually The lead guitar is Ample and the chords are ample too. Only bass is MM Bass.
I`ve tried Scarbee, it is awful, and it plays only patterns, doesn`t play my midi.
No, its not Waves GTR, all are Guitar Rig 5 plus some additional eq and compression, I will check orange tree samples too.

Oooo. And I thought those chords were a clav part. edit: if that's how far you got with Ample Sound, I doubt you'll get any further with OTS...
Well, u have some good rhythmic aspects there, but u are gonna have to persevere with your tracking up. It really can sound so much better than that, if I'm brutally honest with u.
I wish I could play u what I played a top producer the other day; he thought it was all real but it was all mock up! It's for a client, so I can't.
But I've been using MIDI since its inception, and I do play other instruments, so I have a head start.
Still, MIDI sampled guitar is one of the hardest I think to track up. I still have trouble sometimes, but it's so worth it when u can't mic up a cab and disturb the neighbours etc!

Love the MM Bass! It's a good 'go to'. Well done for doing your homework on what to use.
What are u gonna use on drums, just out of interest?

She doesn`t trust UPS and I understand that, I wouldn`t trust UPS or DHL anything that cost more than 200 EUR :)

I thought that was who Thomann.de used when they used to send stuff to me in the UK from Germany.
    I may be wrong though.

@Elnur Magerramov - from the music you've been listening to over the years, regardless of "genre" , what are a few of the songs that you've enjoyed the sound of; that have made you feel something when you've heard them?
