I am telling you do it manually. It works 100%... mount dmg one by one & manually put files inside STEM folder

 

I fixed it.. I had to move audiocoreunitplugin leftover from a download of cracked pro tools from my HAL folder. Now when I authorize im prompted to update patch date and reauthorize. tried to update patch data but when installing it said it couldnt find the steam folder despite the steam folder being present.

 

So STEM folder is missing ?

 

No its in there but the installer says it isnt

 

I bet your DAW is 32 bit which will not recognize 64 bit VST's.

 

This webpage needs a realtime Screen share access ... very difficult to pinpoint the trouble. If DAW is 32 bit, I will bang my head to the wall.. {Joking}. To Samari : My question is, is Omnisphere giving you error that STEM is Missing ?

 

Im downloading to external hard drive.. I was merging the steam folders manually as you said but then it takes up all that space on my main drive which i dont have enough space for so im unable to combine steam folders and place in proper area.

 

Yes now you may be on right path. But remember, you have to make a shortcut path of your STEM folder ofter that you can keep your STEM folder anywhere. Read about Moving STEM folder to external drive

How would I do this on a macbook?

 

Steam folder is already on External hard drive, but the installer says the STEAM folder has to be in Application Support which is only on main drive..?

Just make a shortcut and replace the shortcut already in Spectrasonics folder. Important that the name of the shortcut is exactly the same: STEAM

Spectrasonics folder directory:
Macintosh HD/Users/<Your Username>/Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics

 

Unlike Kontakt or other VSTs Omnisphere is very possessive about STEM Folder. Omnisphere gets angry if she doesn't see STEM

 

I am downloading Omnisphere to an external hard drive and when i run the installer once ive mounted all 8 dmg. The installer says it installed successfully but instead of saying steam folder found and prompting to download the factory it just says finished and all you can do is close it out. I think its something to do with steam folder(s) not being in right place on actual hard drive where it needs to be??? How do I fix this? Please Help!!

 

Im currently unable to change the read/write permissions of the steam folder in order to create an alias. Any way to fix this? running mac os 10.13
