I watched 1/3 of the masterclass with Timbaland, despire it being aimed for hiphop, i simple fallen in love with that beatboxing, humming technique he presented.
i play with it last night, setup my field recorder in front of my ultrabook and then i started to imitate drums, basslines (haha even tb303 xD - i will render it out later)

    Somebody else has tried it?

i would love to try around with that technique, and see if can get better.

I do it all the time, that’s how I make my beats :)
I usually start with a low end melody (like bass burn i suck at making the sounds I just use the notes and swing), then beatbox drums and vibe for a bit. Then I sing random jibberish words with melodies to help me create a progression! It’s a lot of fun to work this way, I find I get my ideas down very fast and the music is more instinctive (for me anyway lol).

I'll definitely watch it this week and I'll get back to this thread to tell about my experience.
One thing I can say is that timbaland was the reason I became interested in learning to beatbox cuz before him, beatboxing was kind of a separate art form from producing beats and he managed to fuse it with production.
