Depends on the stereo technique the frequencies and the amount you dial it in.

If you use 'simple' stereo widener especially for the same freqs in channels and master this can easily go sideways. I recommend a correlation meter and take care that it doesn't show negative values all the time (the more positive the better).

Normally stacking those fx isn't a very good idea.

Well, at least I would either use it on single sounds or in the mainout. It's a bit like running an already reverbed sound through a reverb.
Better make it propper in one single step. But as I said, it also depends on the intensity and the freqs and of course on your goal of propper correlation. I'm pretty sure your DAW has a correlation meter, if not or if you don't like it, I can recommend Voxengo's SPAN, it's free.

And btw, before I'd use a stereo enhancer mid processing (and atm I don't know it this makes sense at all ), I'd pan the source a bit to one side and use a cross delay or cross reverb.

You have to use your ears there, or if you want a vesual feedback a goniometer like the one integrated in ozone imager. You have to be careful not to over-do it, and make everything sound too much on the sides. If you're still not sure after hearing from the speakers and taking a look at the goniometer i suggest you try the mix on some headphones, there you'll understand immediately if there's something wrong

You could use M/S EQ, M/S compression, M/S widening/narrowing, etc on both groups/busses and on the master. It's all up to you in what you want to achive.

When mixing, widening for a single sound (pair) or subgroup, narrowing in mainout below ~ 160Hz.
When mastering, mostly narrowing is meanwhile needed because of too out of phase mixes.

what you mean by stereo technique? m/s processing on a stereo channel ? of course, you can /should.
separate mixing and mastering . do the mix , bounce , master later. you won't be able to do good judgement while creating the song/mixing it. you shouldn't start mixing while making the song but everyone does in a way. i did the heavy processing of the master channel during mixing. songs never sounded good few days later that way. do the mix as best as you can , bounce it, leave plenty of headroom (no clipping) and return with clear head/ears. m/s processing what separates average master from high-end masters.

It's not an obligation to use stereo enhancers.
Like said @No Avenger try to pan your synth lead on the left and pan your reverb or delay on the right,or vice versa. That works very well, you feel a large stereo image.
Panning your different tracks is very important in the mixing process. When you do that your mix is more dense, and everything finds its place more easily.
