Microsoft has created new ISO files of Windows 7 SP1 (Build 7601.24214.180801) and offers them for download. They are 64-bit versions of Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate.
You need to stay away from this ISO. It contains all telemetry crap in it. Moreover, if you happen to own one of the latest Intel CPU's by installing this update you are going to be inundated with unsupported hardware pop ups. This is nothing but the latest attempt by Microfuck to force us users into installing Windows 10. Indeed, the efi,boot and sources folders, are from 2009-10, and it does not integrate the NVME update (KB2990941) Attached is PDF with a list of updates included in this ISO.

I'm really worried about the future of using Windows machines. I want to avoid Windows 10. But there will come a point in the future when we will not be able to get compatible hardware for Windows 7, or when new software/plugins will not be compatible with Windows 7 anymore. Linux still has a long way to go to deliver anything that goes beyond basic stuff (although it's on the right track). What to do?

 

Been a while since i used win 7...i was very reluctant to switch to win 10, but OVERALL it is actually better than win 7
luckly theres lot of apps to stop the telemetry in win 10

YW. The reason for this "updated ISO" is to counter our circumvention of Microfuck's updates which were designed to force us to install W10. Microfuck knew that WE knew that KB4012218 and KB4015549 were causing the pop ups, and consequently we were avoiding it or uninstalling it. Indeed, Microfuck knew that we were staying away from all updates starting with "401". This latest intrusion by Microfuck can be defeated by an old patch by Zeffy. Only place I can recommend for a virgin W7 is my own depository. I still conserve the original W7 ISOs without any tampering. I cant vouch for any sites.

 

TeamOS' website should be fine for downloading ISO images. Those guys have a good reputation they wouldn't want to spoil.

 

What to do? Keep on using W7 until ...the day comes. One thing to keep in mind is that software developers know what OS their buyers are using. Don't think for a moment that developers are going to lose a big segment of their clientele base. As it is right now, there is nothing Microfuck can do to stop us or developers from using W 7. Simply put, as long as there are million of users with W 7, developers will continue to supply us. Economics 101,supply and demand.
