How to make these types of riser build ups?

    Can anyone tell me how build up risers like the one at 10 seconds into this song are created?


    I have many beats that would work perfect with these types of risers but I can't figure out if they are sounds from a sample pack, or if they can be created from scratch.

    Even if you don't know exactly how they are made, any input on how you think they might be created would be appreciated.

    Best Answer
    1) You add pitch envelope or add pitch automation (for the pitch to go up and up).
    2) You also add square tremolo/trance gate/stutter/gapper/volume automation/SquareLFO on amplitude/volume to make the volume turn on and off.
    3) What waveform, unison, interval, etc is up to you. A matter of taste.

    its a 5 or more voiced saw pitched up and volume/filter automated with grossbeat. a sound made famous by Virginia's own Lex Luger

    Why we need special synths for risers? They can be made in any synth. It's all about trying different things on standard rising pitch envelope.
