Totally man, feel the same about having the filter closed slightly, makes all the difference between sounding lush and organic and cold and digital. Anyways, I can see myself using it often for underlying pads and strings, gonna go for it.

As a side note, they built different revisions and the 'harsh' sound came with Rev3 because they changed the chips (and added MIDI ports, iirc).

u-he modelled the Rev 3 Prophet 5 (Rev 3's had Curtis chips).
Rev 2's use SSM chips and are supposed to sound a bit thicker/warmer - but they still sound like a Prophet 5.

Remember, plenty of other analog synths used Curtis chips, and while you could argue they mostly have a more or less "cold"-ish character in general, it doesn't mean they share the same harshness or character of the Prophet 5. That character comes from the chips, but also the hardware design and the feature set, particularly the poly modulation stuff. It all contributes to make a Prophet 5 sound like a Prophet 5.

A price drop like this, on probably the 1st or 2nd most sold product, sounds really strange to me...

Could this mean 'diva 2.0' ?

Could this be used as an incentive, to later get zebra 3 ? 'If you own zebra 2, you can get zebra 3 for only 69.99.... if you own diva, zebra 3 well cost 39.99 less...
Zebra has been around since, what, 10 years ? Zebra 3 will be the next big thing, at uhe... they want EVERYBODY to buy it. If you don't own any uhe product, spending 220 bucks on zebra3 might be a tough decision. BUT if you already own some uhe products, including diva, when zebra3 is out, you're gonna needed it. And if you can have a little 10 or 15% off...it becomes irresistible.

This depends on the protection. If it slows down the performance they modify it (sometimes?) for the better. If it doesn't there ofc no need to do this.
