As you know, Thorn was made to provide you with a great tool for modern electronic music production. V1.2 offers some small but valuable improvements, the biggest being: if you use the PA version you will be able to use the plugin on 3 computers or USB sticks at the same time. You may even share it with a band mate. Also, you'll be able to use our convenient installation manager and get support from Plugin Alliance anytime if needed.

Hello dear XXXX,

We have some important news to share with you. In the past few months we have been working on migrating DS Audio to Plugin Alliance platform. As you know DS Audio always was a one-man team. Being alone means that DS Audio has limited resources for marketing, download assistance and account management. Together with Plugin Alliance, DS Audio can now provide much better services and concentrate exactly and solely on plugin development. Plugin Alliance certainly will help us a lot to keep on the audio plugin market among all other great companies and competitive products.

Our first step was porting Thorn to Plugin Alliance. It will be exclusively distributed by Plugin Alliance, DS Audio will not be selling and provide download links for Thorn at the website anymore. The downside is that we have to charge for extra fee for the transition to Plugin Alliance platform. We know, you might think it's not fair. It's always a pain to pay for any minor update and there is really no much reasons to do that. Frankly DS Audio as well never thought of any additional charges it could ask for in future. However, we did everything to minimize the fee as much as possible and set it to $19 USD. The fee is needed to cover expenses for allocating storage and bandwidth at Plugin Alliance servers, beta testing and integration work. We hope that the benefits of Plugin Alliance platform could be worth enough for you to upgrade.

As for future plans, DS Audio is intensively working on Diversion 2 now, which will be released at Plugin Alliance this year. After that we start working on Tantra 2. Both Diversion 2 and Tantra 2 will provide much more new features and improvements than their current versions. We hope to port all our existing plugins before 2019 ends. So in 2020 DS Audio products will be exclusively distributed by Plugin Alliance.

We sincerely hope you will understand us, we're now having hard times with the transition, but we believe that we are building future for DS Audio.

its gonna be bomb, this company deserves many more, their plugins for sure are the best out there. and actually listen to customers.

 

finally something by PA I am not even interested in...(don't need anything synth related). But nice to see that they keep going. Here's to hoping they'll do a Vertigo VSE...;)

Oh no, Not Unfiltered Audio helping on the collab..... everything they make sounds like shit to my ears, and I own most of their shit due to using my PA vouchers to get them for free or just a handful of dollars. I dunno why but I just can't seem to gel with their plugin sound! But it is nice to see that they are going to release a Synth.

Are the btrainworx /pluginalliance plugins
using a serial number, as uhe does, via shareit/etc,

Or is there some kind of challenge-response system, followed by a plugin-alliance license manager ?

I refuse to buy software that requires license managers/permanent online connections, or use challenge-response systems (when you use a laptop, the hardware will never change, some memory might eventually be added. .. but when you use a PC, there's always something changing. ..we reload different OS/partition images, etc etc).

you can authorize up to 3 machines. And you can alternatively download a license file that does not require you to authorize anything hardware related (don't change the name of your machine though....) i put it on a usb key...a regular one to be able to move it from my laptop to my workstation... that's it.

I need another synth like a hole in the head especially a wavetable one. Still keen to see what they have to offer, spec with unfiltered’s involvement.

 

i Would Buy There Stuff But i Use a Waves Digigrid iOS interface That Has DSP Built-in That you use Waves Studio Rack So You Can Off Load CPU Possessing and Plugin Alliance Stated Making Soundgrid Versions but only a Few So i Called and They Said They Are Going To Stop making Soundgrid Versions So That Sucks

Forgive me if I am wrong, but all it looks like to me is that DS Audio have teamed up with PA to use their software protection, to secure Thorn a bit more. Not a collab as such, in the terms of them making a new synth together. At least thats all it looks like on their website. V1.2 Thorn. Pretty shit way to go imo, slap it on PA and up the price.......

Is that it? Thorn with added copy protection?
Well that was about as exiting as Native Inst. NKS FX launch, my moneys safe for now.
Still hoping Urs might actually get Z3 off the ground this year.

 

Me too I don't like how Unfiltered Audio sounds,except their Delay that is fast to use,but if you want that you can use your DAW's built-in delay...

If Unfiltered Audio Release synths we'll probably get their filters,delays,reverbs,and modulators we already find in their FXs.I hope not.

The surprise will be the oscillators.

But from the email I received from PA they show a bit some synth with "Brainworx" written on it,so we'll probably see some Brainworx synth during 2019,too.
