I'd think that the scene groups don't care much about what people write in internet forums. They have their own motivations and their own agenda. So I'd guess, the thought that they read a thread like this and then decide to not release stuff is pretty much a myth, IMHO. Anyway, I've been thinking about this a lot and here's what I suspect.

First, the copy protections have gotten better over time and will require a herculean effort to break. Dongle eLicenser is no joke and has been really efficient. Once there's a breakthrough, I think there will be more releases again, but until then, I'd think that groups will work in the shadows to make progress without any public attention to it.

Second, there's strategy in timing and pace. Assume a group cracked a big protection for a piece of software or a plugin. Say they release it to celebrate their victory. What happens? The developers analyze the crack and instantly update their protection to make it more efficient again, locking out the groups of ongoing version revisions. The groups have to expect that once they release a truly new kind of crack, at that point that's gonna be it and they will be reset by the developers. So they will want to wait until they get all software they want to crack with the versions they'd like to have, and until they finished the actual cracking to make sure everything works. Imagine INeedThisSoftwareOrElseICannotMakeMusicPls 9.5 got released, a few weeks later INeedThisSoftwareOrElseICannotMakeMusicPls 10 is unbreakable again. Why not wait for a few weeks to get version 10? And why not, perhaps, wait a few more months or years until 10.5 or 11? Why alert your adversaries of their weaknesses?

I trust the groups have their own strategic thinking and know what's best. With all that said, it's good to see other groups come in and bring competition. It's obvious R2R has some kind of friendly (or not-so-friendly) banter with VR. If VR ups the pace, R2R might be incentivised to up theirs as well. I just hope they won't rush out stuff they would have wanted to release later otherwise.

thats true but sometimes they check if rls works in comments...and maybe sometimes very less they did read comments here fo sho..
but in common i think thats right....and i kno for what the req section mostly is..a utopia which

ppl did talk always bad bout other teams...they only hold the one up which is rlsing most working stuff at this moment...

Isn't there any script for the mods that auto-deletes any thread with "R2R in the title?". There's waaay too many of these.

 

This might be a trollish thread. But it is you who are complaining in the thread about it who make it stay on top.

 

R2R dead asf. No major releases. CE.VR is killing it, the only team which cares about releasing for good stuff for public in the past few months. I know some people would disagree but the truth is bitter.

This is totally false, as I said, there are a lot of threads every day and useless drama, to which you participate adding comments, is a very ridiculous part of the content here.

 

Thanks for refreshing my memory. I stand corrected: AudioSex is a place full of engaging conversations and, sometimes, a little drama to spice the atmosphere (to which I'm not obliged to respond and have the prerrogative to ignore if I so choose). You are right, I'm am wrong.

 

A possible reason that R2R has fallen apart is so that they can revolutionize, to find a way of studying the phenomenon and so reversing it to better serve mankind. Anyone who feels entitled to their blessings of R2R's work or complains about not being on the recieving end of a selfless gift won't be getting any candy when they ring my doorbell on Halloween. That's a promise.
