I Love the concept, but maaaan the Cpu consumption is so high, wish if it was a bit lighter

As soon as I enable the EQ, the CPU jumps up to 70%.

For me personally, I love the way it sounds, as it sounds better than the other SSL Waves Channel, but the downfall for me is that it's such a CPU hog.

Oh no! How many tracks are operated inside the plugin when this happens? If it is for the whole song, it can be bearable.

Omni Schepps was also a CPU hog.
However, some people reported for Omni Schepps that the CPU is high due to graphic representation:

Sadly, it happens with only 1 instance of the plugin :(
I put it on 2 tracks and my cpu was pushing 100% and crackling even with max buffer size.

CLA speaks out (same day as the promo was released, how funny) and is being honest about his uses of plugins and who a pro mixer guy is in the real world :

    " plugins are tang "
" mine are okay though "

A hooker for a living, but still a lover of music.

I haven't tried it, it's on sister site but some people are saying in the comments it doesn't load plugins, while others are saying it works perfect... :dunno:

I found an interesting information in a Namm 2019 video with CLA. He says that Waves didn't emulate every channel like Brainworx bx_console or in NLS Channel. Personally I don't care but I've read from a lot of from other users that they are pretty sure Waves modeled all those tolerances between each channel.

I loved this as the top comment on Waves Youtube channel "We put a mixer in your mixer so you can mix while mixing." bout sums this plugin up. Agree with others the CPU hit is huge. For comparison SO 4.1.3 on an old i3 PC, Waves 10, 24 all active instances, 87% CPU usage compared to omnichannel 27% CPU hit with all modules active.

Original SSL channel strip and NLS "Spike" on 24 channels = 12% CPU

If you've got the power and the inclination then knock yourself out with CLA's plugin.

I like that modern plugins aren't shy of using a lot of resources. I have put 65 stereo instances on 64 tracks + master and it ate up around 27%. Scheps Omni was only around 9%. I have a 3,4 GHz i5 Intel which isn't unusual in 2019 I think.

EDIT: I didn't properly check it. See my post after this one!

Just checking was that with all modules enabled on the CLA Mixhub? They're disabled by default. Once you start enabling the input, eq, comp on each instance just watch that CPU die is my experience on this low spec home machine.I found I can run more instances in Reaper 5 and even Pro Tools 12.5 as everyone knows SO4 is a CPU hog of a DAW.

I updated my windows 10 to 1809 finally a few days ago and I’ll admit there’s a significant change in stability with my audio projects. The CLA hub at 96khz I get 6% usuage on a bass track and at 192khz it doubles to 12% so not to shabby. Cheers thank you for the clarification Thornton

Holy shit! I totally overlooked this. With all the modules enabled I was able to run 33 instances in stereo at 44.1 kHz - that's sick! I absolutely regret my last post lol

How did you do that?! Waves only supports 96kHz with Mixhub

Yup I've seen that on the waves website the hub only supports up to 96khz. I was actually looking to see how much cpu it ate up at 192 before I saw the sample rate support but to my surprise I didn't notice any sound deterioration or complications its pretty solid at 192 honestly but for the sake of avoiding errors I'll be using at 96 for sure[IMG]
