Try portable. It's the easiest one to install and uninstall, without screwing up something.
Maybe it's a good idea to go with v5.7.3 first. It works flawlessly, in my experience.

    Cheers!

What @SineWave said, except just go with the latest one, Native Instruments Kontakt 6 v6.0.3 Portable.

Been using it with no problems.

NO INSTALL is great for people like you and me, but for a computer newbie? hmm I've never tried to install it by starting the .cmd, though. I always just put the files from the package where they should be. The harder way, I suppose. :)

If I remember correctly I just moved the folder where I wanted it and clicked on a INSTALL.cmd file. I had Kontakt 5 already installed and all the libraries added automatically. I have a custom vst folder so I probably had to move the plugin to that folder. Do you know if I can delete this folder:

When I clicked on the INSTALL.cmd it installed different folders that looks like short cuts like this:

As I said, I haven't tried the .cmd way, but it seems it generates symlinks to the folder, so if you delete the folder - you lose the installation. It has to be left alone for Kontakt to work.

Okay thanks, I will not delete it then. Maybe next time I will do it the hard way to. Is that blue arrow on the folder a symlink sign? It looks like a shortcut but it not

Yes, it is a shortcut, but it is a symlink shortcut, which is a different kind of shortcut. It is a "hard" file system shortcut. Very useful for when there's not enough space on your OS SSD, so you can move it somewhere else, and make a symlink to it. It's a new feature of NTFS file system introduced in Vista. Here you can read about it. It's very useful!

Quote: "Symbolic links are basically advanced shortcuts. Create a symbolic link to an individual file or folder, and that link will appear to be the same as the file or folder to Windows—even though it’s just a link pointing at the file or folder."

    However, XP has something similar.

[And Linux had symbolic links like forever... :)]
