Brand new to this forum with hopes that someone friendly can help

Installed, ran the keygen, everything is going smoothly. Select the correct license, says it's good and then immediately gives me a "This computer has been deactivated for use with Studio One. You can manage activations in your PreSonus account".

Retried the keygen with ethernet disabled and it worked fine. I obviously need internet for Vienna Ensemble Pro. Tried to block everything PreSonus with my firewall...still didn't help.

Thoughts?

 

Just block it with firewall, I had the same issue and it worked for me.

oh boy this is where it's extremely apparent that I'm a n00b - Tried your peeplink and couldn't get a download button that wasn't spam. Something I'm missing?

Also, Ikagura that was my first instinct and I thought I blocked everything from Presonus but it still came back with the same issue. I wonder if there's an application that is checking online that doesn't look like Presonus?

lmao ok manually blocked it with a new rule with the firewall and it works now.

Hey @Liedom, glad yer good now. That Peeplink spam thing had me aggravated until I realized there's a "Register" button on the page, usually below the links box. Once registered on Peeplink the spam goes and stays away (provided you log in each time using the browser that holds the relevant cookies).

fresh noob right here, right at the end of the installation process on Mac (just after scanning vst's etc) I was greeted with a prompt asking whether to keep Studio One connected online (or something similar) and dummy of the week over here clicked "yes/ok". I'm having the same issue as above and I've tried the firewall block (below image) and I dropped the .cmd file I downloaded from Medrewb's peeplink into Terminal which gives me the result "Permission Denied". Any help or advice as to what I may be doing wrong would be greatly appreciated

 

Simple; just uninstall Studio One, run the Host .cmd as "administrator," and then reinstall....without clicking "yes." .
Should work fine.

I use PC, but, if nothing else the clicking of the "yes," part will be solved with a reinstall. As per the HOST address' that medrewb posted, all you have to do is add the addresses to your HOST file (or the MAC equivalent; you'll have to find where/what that is.) The address' to block are:

127.0.0.1 registration.presonus.com

127.0.0.1 updates.presonus.com

As I said, I don't use MAC, but just find the HOST/IP address file location, make sure you are an/the admin., and you should be fine.

 

Got there eventually! reinstalling doesn't fix the issue unfortunately, there's only one opportunity to not press the dreaded "yes" button after reinstalling you're simply greeted with the error message.

Only issue I have now is installing the loop packs etc as it constantly asks me to log in after pressing "install". If I can find a way to install the content packs externally, I'll return to update!

I have blocked the firewall and got it running on macOS sierra ...
but how do you get the extra content without going to the website ?

i don't think the latest v4 library updates are released yet though, seems its some drums and not that big of an update but I havent seen any release of it yet

 

Add these rules to your hosts file:
127.0.0.1 registration.presonus.com
127.0.0.1 updates.presonus.com
I have also added the Studio One.exe to the firewall to exclude it from having accesss to the internet as well as the Studio One plugins scanner. But that alone did not do the trick. Adding the two rules to the hosts file did the trick for me. (I use Notepad++ to do that - it will ask upon saving if you want to enter into admin mode - just click yes and save the changed hosts file. And that's it. Restart Studio one 4 and it will work! ;-)
I uninstalled Studio One 4 with YourUninstaller and re-installed every time I got the de-activated error. After having installed it again (with network adapter (internet) disabled) and updating the hosts file and starting Studio One 4 first at least one time with internet(network) adapter still disabled - I re-enabled the network adapter (via the network settings in Windows) and then started Studio One 4 again. And then it worked without giving the "De-activated" error! Voila!

 

I use PC and i blocked studio one 4 via firewall, but now i can not access with my studio one remote control because i blocked internet connection of SO4. What should i do?

 

Trick is to allow the programs access to the Local Network without accessing the internet. Just like disconnecting the cable from the router/modem. Another way is to set a static IP , subnet mask and DNS on the PC, leave the default gateway blank. This will allow the PC to access other devices on LAN but not the internet. Simply use Adblocker "uBlock Orign" in combination with "Ghostery" and Peeplink will look like here (no Porn or Gamble Spam...no automatically opening spam sites etc):


Of cause you have to use the links (they are not clickable) above the "Usenet.nl" Bullshit!
