    Hi Celtic
Okay! very very interesting all your explanations.:invision:
Yes, as for Spectrasonics in a register of different instruments that were successful with Omnisphere when they had previously released atmosphere and trilogy ...
It's true that as NYCGRIFF told me, "Native Instruments has a real gold mine with Kontakt", all or almost all major software instrument brands go through Kontakt.
Thanks Celtic for all very instructive historical explanations about Kontakt's beginnings and the competition in Kontakt that is nonexistent to this day.

No really interesting I think. Simply it happened. Only my opinion.
For me was really surprising first advance to standalone in Omnisphere stuff (for instance some oldie like Stylus) but not doing it with Bob Moog. But I really don´t use Omnisphere, having hundreds of synths my preference use to be Nexus. Or Synth1. Or Dune 3. Or Rave Generator :D
Yes, @NYCGRIFF knows what he is talking about. But as jazz pianist would be nice to ask him: Which is your favourite sampled piano?
Native Instrument ran a risk with Kontakt 6 and increasing the canon companies must pay for being "powered by Native Instruments". First client lost: Spitfire. And it´s not a poor client which can´t pay canon. Lots of people are waiting for Hans Zimmer Strings. Maybe we will wait forever. Only time and business balances willk say if they were right or missed, as it happened with Facebook and the same decission with Zynga and its games exclusive for Facebook.
Yes they have a mine. Actually, we have only one full orchestra outside Kontakt, Philharmonik 1&2. Is there any other I don´t know? Please tell me if wrong.
But there is something I´m not right with you:; I don´t think Kontakt will not have competence. Now we can use HALion, is not bad. We can use a reduced version from Groove Agent. Not bad. And Kontakt has not a fabulous drum library in competition with Superior Drummer 3, for instance. Uffff, several things for talking about.
    Until the next testament.

Personally, I love the sounds of omnisphere, arps textures ... and Alchemy, Zebra, Sylenth, Massive.
    Iris is also interesting.
The synths of Rob Papen, Lin Plug and Tone 2
Newcomers Serum and Spire are not bad either.
Nexus, I got a little off the hook, wrongly maybe.
    In short I like a lot ...
    The Falcon looks great too.
If NYCGRIFF is a jazz pianist, he must have an interesting point of view although the approach of an instrument is quite subjective, especially in terms of piano sounds, the difference of piano sounds in software is quite subtle. from one piano to another. I will ask him.
But you say that Spitfire will not go through Kontakt anymore, seriously !!! What does Spitfire plan for? Independent software for each new library?
It's true that Native Instruments may be enjoying a bit too much of their leadership status towards library creators for whom license fees are a serious problem.
I do not know about orchestras if East West, Engine of Best Service have orchestras ... I know they have kinds of "orchestras" themed (series of Era, Forest Kingdom ...) but they are obviously not orchestras strictly speaking.
Certainly in terms of battery libraries, there are other software libraries that I do not have the names in mind that offer a very rich choice, especially that you give as an example with Superior Drummer 3.
I do not know except by name, there are so many instruments, Halion and Groove Agent either I do not know; but even without Kontakt, for whom the musical potential has a creative meaning, it is already gigantic.
I'm not saying that Kontakt will not have competence or competition, I even hope that others will come with instruments that will enrich, transform the possibilities ...
I just note that at present Kontakt is still a sort of "matrix" to which this registry or rather garners more libraries than any other software.
From where his palette of incredible sound riches but as you say until the next testament *

    Hello NYCGRIFF :shalom:,

I learned that you were a jazz pianist.
Although there is a sensitivity of plays and games that are not the same for each pianist including jazz ...
Celtic and I would be interested to know which piano kontakt and / or other you prefer to play ?
    Thank you

Hi Celtic: You and I have had many discussions about Kontakt libraries. But, I don't think we've ever discussed my "favorite" piano library. Actually, I have several "favorite" libraries. Depending on the project, I've used an array of piano libraries. Personally, I like a "heavy" Baby Grand sound. However, my NYC apartment is too small for such an instrument. My mother and sister own a home in upstate NY. So, when I need to play a "real" large, rich piano, I travel there. Anyway, I like Impact Soundworks PEARL, Native Instruments The Maverick and Native Instruments The Grandeur. Those are my three favorite (go-to) piano libraries. Of course, I use others, but prefer those. BTW, honorable mention? "Alicia Keys". A really sweet library. (Bought and paid for by me).

Hi LightSound: *See my response to @celtic3342 above. Thanks for asking. Your questions show that you have a strong devotion to making creative music. BTW, I experiment with 'melding' different music styles; always incorporating a "Jazz" core as a thrusting catalyst.

    Hi NYCGRIFF,
Yes, it's true that depending on what you're playing, some sounds of paino are better than others.
"Thrusting catalyst" I like this expession.
Yes, an instrument is a language in itself, an instrument duet is already a form of fusion.
Certainly as we say the music is universal that is obviously obvious ... The styles are languages and merge created by this simple fact a new type of language although the term "language" is somewhat reductive to talk about musical expression ...
:metal:Trash to :phunk:rock, :guitarhero:pop, :drummer:classical,:blues: jazz, :break:hip hop, :boombox:rap, reggae,:dj: techno etc ... until the new age:yawn:, to experimentation, mergers that can do battle ... not to mention the styles that do not have still seen in the day, this can also be summarized among other things by your quote from Thelonious Monk :

"Whatever you think can not be done, somebody will come along and do it. A genius is the one most like himself. " _*_

Well said, LightSound! I could not have expressed it better. Correctly blended styles and sounds can make for some very interesting music. Your head is definitely in the right orbit, bro.
