HI, does anyone know much about the funk guitar for this song at 2.17. Is that a stratocaster ? I looked at their live shows but they aren't playing instruments .Anyone know what guitar it is or how you get such a clean funky tone, is that a tonne of compression ? Is that chorus ? Can I get that tone with a kemper amp profiler ?

Could be any brand of guitar. Been processed so much it doesn't matter. Compressed, filtered, sampled and manipulated. once you figure all that out. add some reverb. lol

Some EQ, some chorus, some sample chopping, done.

 

What kind of eq ing ,is involved with a sound like this, are you boosting the mids or the opposite, booting the bass and the treble. Do you double track the sound in both speakers and then mix it down to mp3 and then double track it again to get a larger than life sound.

 

You already seem to have a good idea about how to do it, then why don't you just do it?
Take your time to play with different settings, listen and compare, and you'll get there.

 

I have recorded funky guitar parts before and they have sounded ok but the guitar in this song really sounds amazing, it really has that super clean funky french house kind of sound and if anyone has any tips or tricks of the trade , then I would like to hear about them. I hear what your saying about learning by doing. I only have a classic vibe stratocaster and a zoom g2.1u guitar pedal at the moment, with a higher quality effects pedal , I could probably get a better sound. Again, if anyone has any info about the equipment the band uses , then that might be helpful. I am thinking about buying a kemper profiler at the moment to get a better sound .

 

HOW can you be *SURE* this is a guitar? I"m not trying to be fresh or anything, but, to me, this sound is much more a result of deep sound design than a result of choosing a particular model of guitar.
