Help!! I'm trying to generate an authorization code/file but I'm having no luck finding the correct Computer ID for my 2010 (late) MacBook Pro. It's not the one used in Network for Wifi; it's not the one found in About This Mac/serial number; it's not the Machine ID.

I think it's 15 digits. At least that's what the challenge code generator is asking for.

Try network settings, advanced, the far right page, there's a bunch of numbers separated by colons : copy this and delete the colons. I'm guessing because I'm not at my mac at present.

Two possibilities, either the Software you try to install will generate the computer ID for you, or the "tool" you use to install it will also create the computer ID for your system on demand. Did you check if you didn't miss a step somewhere?
