    Hi,

    I have cubase 7.5.
Is it worth upgrading to Cubase 10.

What are the significant feature improvements?

Some problems which i was facing with cubase 7.5 were crashing problems, becomes slow when lot of plugins/vsts are added. pops/cracks (not sure if pops/cracks is because of the daw).

PS: I don't use built in plugins. I prefer and use only 3rd party plugins mostly.

There is a demo time of 1 month on the steinberg website.

Cubase pro is not released on the sister website :(

Check this site and you will see if it worth....

    https://new.steinberg.net/cubase/new-in-10/

In my opinion... hell fkng yeah.... its worth...

    Tip:
I was bought upgrade from 9.0 to 9.5 on summer holidays in this year (with 40% disc) BUT didnt activate it . I was activate it when steinberg released v10 and in this way I get v10 for FREE (grace period system). So if u can a little bit wait.... buy v10 upgrade on summer holidays (with a discount), activate it in end of november and u will get v10.5 for free... ;)

I think the grace period for trying is only one month if i am not wrong. Can someone correct me if i am wrong here?

What do you mean by summer holidays. Is it June 2019?

It's actually pretty easy. In general I only buy the x.5 updates. They are on sale for like $40 every once in a while. Buy them when they are on discount but DON'T ACTIVATE THEM! You just get the upgrade CODE by mail and let it rest. Do NOT USE IT.

Wait until the next major version upgrade will be released. Then update your x.5 version and get the major version update for free. This way keeping Cubase "nearly" up to date is around $20 a year, which is pretty fair in my book.

So I got 8.0, bought the 8.5 upgrade code for $40 (or whatever) when it was on sale but didn't activate it, waited till 9.0 was out and entered my code. It gets immediately upgraded to 9.0 for free. I bought the next upgrade code when 9.5 was on sale for $40 (or whatever) and waited till 10.0 was out. Entered my code and got 10.0 for free. Will buy the next upgrade code when 10.5 will be on sale...

The drawback is, you won't have the x.5 updates - as you buy the code but don't use it. If you can live with that, you'll get a new cubase major release every second year for $40, which is a very reasonable upgrade price, if you ask me.

In theory(!) - I haven't tried it - when you buy Cubase Pro 10.0 today and buy the 10.5 upgrade code when it's on sale for $40, you can just let it rest, if you are not interested in Cubase anymore. And when you come back to Cubase in like 5 years, you can just enter your upgrade code and will get the newest version for free.

My last Cubase version was 8 pro. I dumped it for the slowness and sluggishness and Steinbergs nickel and dimming every bug fix. I went to reaper I have never look back nor have I said I miss Cubase.

I have Cubase pro 10 and it is horrible, I use Cubase 9.5.41 is the best version for now. So many crashes when you load your old projects so wait until is fix or wait for 10.5 another 60 dollars for the fix. Stay in cubase 9.5

Trying only one month is TRIAL... If u have elicenser u can download trial v10pro and test it. Grace Period is a period of time when your are able to get free license for new version with one providing... U MUST activate ealier update/upgrade in 2-3 weeks before releasing a new version.
    Just like I did.

And yeah.... summer holidays I meant july/august time. In this time steinberg does update/upgrade discouints (40%)... buy it on summer and activate it on november/december and you will be in "grace period" time and you will get new version for free... automaticly...

You can wait with the activation until the next version is already released. After activation you'll get the newest version automatically.

Have set up many cubase systems.
It was either your outdated computer hardware/audio interface or drivers.
Cubase doesnt have a soul to choose where it will work good or bad, 99% it works like it should, so your post doesnt make any sense at all.

@beatletown you are right but this guy cant keep away from posts about cubase.. trying his best to bash it and praising how good his Reaper toys is.. so i doubt he will care about the any statements thats its normallt user faults when things aint running no matter what DAW's. And even if he always says he never looked back the strange thing is that it is just what hes doing making post like that.. pzzt, may be he missing it alot ;)

Anyway keep wasting you money upgrading your PC and still getting high latency because the programmers sux at Strindberg.
It's your money Keep on wasting it.
I also can see why all the great knowledge people left Audiosex, because of arrogant people like you.

I am not arrogant. No need to get emotional. I just think you gave up for the wrong reasons.

To be honest I gave up for all the right reasons. I spend months trouble shooting everything. Finally I had a bright Idea, try a different software.
Same Hardware same OS, and then bam all was fine blank project no ASIO usage. Took a project that I made in Cubase 8 and imputed into reaper more and more tracks I could add with like 80 % free cpu. I am not joking with you. The difference is amazing.

And just so you know I have a 4790 k with 32 gigs of ram. ssd drives and several other drives for samples and such
