I have a badass old school windows 98se setup now. loud bold sound. its really suprising how good the audio is with my soundcard i don't get that kind of sound out of my windows 10 computers thats for sure. not sure why.looking for any old software suggestions for windows 98se that function like redline monitor does. Any crossfeed plugin basicly for my headphones. the headphones I am using are phillips SHP9500s. if there aren't any crossfeed compensation plugins available i will just mix without it I guess. how did people mix with headphones on 98se back then?

I "mixed" on huge Hi-Fi speakers back then. There was no utility for Win98 that I can remember. The only thing that pops into my mind is Q-Tools, but that was for 3D sound manipulation.

I wonder what DAW you're using in W98SE? You need a VST plugin since you mentioned Redline Audio Monitor, right?

 

REAPER v4 still works on 98SE

 

Sorry for late reply. I am using FL 5 and FL 4. also wavelab 5.01 A (h2o) works perfect. im surprised. even the waves diamond bundle 5.0 from 2004/2005 works.

From my research there are no cross feed plugin vsts that work with Windows 98SE or Windows Millenium edition.

so far i have tested these plugins that I can verify the works with 98SE and also ME (millenium edition). I am using FL5. there are lots more that work with it.

*absynth 2
*albino 1 (the R2R keygen will not work so you have to copy the serial from your laptop)
*ps-1 1.0 (2008 performance synthesizer)
*sample moog 4+gb (yes really. but not the standalone just the plugin but at least you can use it. but who the heck needs the standalone anyway.. its surprising how fast the presets load ;)
*crono-x 2
*vangaurd quasar (2008 1.8)
*v-station ( i have only tested 1.4 and it does work 100% but you have to ignore a pop up about kernal 32, just move it to the side, and use as normal and save your project alot. : also 1.2 might not even give this error but i don't have it to test)
*hyper canvas (h2o)
*ultra-analog v1 (h2o)
...
you get the idea lots of stuff works well.
