    Hello everyone,

I have gotten the opportunity to work with some synths I haven't used before.
Just for one day. I mainly make electro so I was wondering,
if you were/are a electro artist, which of these synths would you start with?
And which synths are the best for deep electro basses?
For example: Deadmau5 Ft Melleefresh - Hey Baby

    These are the synthesizers:

    Roland Juno 60
    Roland MC202 (mod)
    Moog Little Phatty
    Dave Smith Poly Evolver
    Doepfer System A 100 Modular
    Kawai Synthesizer 100F
    Korg Monopoly
    Korg Polysix

    Thanks!

Electro, I would choose Slim Phatty, than go for second hand Access Virus C and Clavia Nord Rack 2/2x, it's just most popular stuff for sounds you are after

If you go all second hand you can buy them for 1500 bucks max which is pretty dope *yes*

i would work with the Polysix - because it can create awesome pads.
then Juno 60 - dont know the Juno line was always good.
hmm one day is just to less to work with some hardware synths. should be 1 week or more.
    anyway have fun with it.

    @ Xszander,

As you say that (unfortunately !) you'll have access to these several original synths for only 1 day, simply some suggestions :

As I also don't know if this '1 day' will be next week, in some weeks (or even months !), you can in the meantime use some of the Virtual VSTi ('virtual replicas') counterparts of some of these famous hardware synths to already be aware and have an idea of what kind of sounds and results you can expect of them.

    - Roland Juno 60 --> Virtual VSTi counterpart : 'TAL-U-NO-LX' by 'Togu Audio Line

    'TAL-U-NO-LX' Homepage

    - Korg Monopoly & Korg Polysix --> Virtual VSTi counterparts : 'KORG Legacy Collection Analog Edition'

    'KORG Mono-Poly' Homepage
    'KORG Polysix' Homepage

    - Dave Smith Poly Evolver --> 'PinkNoise REVOLVER V1.40 KONTAKT' Library (for using within the 'NI Kontakt Sampler Engine')

'PinkNoise Studio REVOLVER for Kontakt' Homepage

The 'Moog Little Phatty' seems to be a 'little beast' (according to its features and characteristics !), whereas the 'Roland MC-202' is considered as a 'vintage legend' (it sounds very close to both the 'TB-303' and the 'SH-101 Bass', also by Roland).

The only 'drawback' in your list could be the... 'Doepfer System A 100 Modular'. I write 'drawback' because if you're not used to play and/or program with pure modular synths, you'll certainly waste your single day of happiness to just learn and/or understand the purpose of all these 'spaghettis' of cables !!!
To have an idea of all this 'bazaar', simply look at the following images :

So, apart if you're an experienced and seasoned airplane pilot accustomed to manage large cockpits... you'll certainly be lost in front of such nightmare !!!

Good Luck and fully enjoy your '1 day in Heaven' !

Thanks a lot for the replies.
This '1 day in heaven' is in June.
So plenty of time to check out the virtual versions of these awesome synths!
I have got some help of the owners of the synths to create the sounds I want.
So who knows what they can make with a doefper...
I am 18 so quite young and new to analog synthesizers.
But i'm curious to what those beasts can do! :bleh:

I would start with the Phatty, because its a funny little toy :grooves:
Just play with it for a few minutes, and you'll either get a cool bass, or something really freaky...

From what you'll get in term of choice of synth for bass, go for these:
    Moog Little Phatty
    Roland Juno 60
the Korgs ( too bad you don't have the MS20 in the choice for deep bass)

If you have already work with hardware synth you'll find your way for sure.
If not, you have to learn some basis in synth to know how working with a filter, several envelopes, osc … To get the right sound you looking for .
Anyway, the response is immediate with these instruments, you will like it for sure !

if you can try them with an amp like bass amp to have a cool body sound to sculpt and record the DI + the amp

    have fun
