Does anyone have experience with this? I want to remove iDONTKNOWWHO release and buy legit. What traces will I need to delete after uninstalling the software? Any other locations in which files or licenses remain?

Also, will it break all my project files using the old release once I install the legit v3?

    Thank you.

    Win or Mac ???

    On win:
The easy way is to use Revo Uninstaller
Then check registry with regedit or advanced regeditor.

You can also use a little utility called Launchy (it's free), it will scan your computer and reveal files containing the word you typed in.
Type in keywords, and delete manually those entries - Same with regedit for leftovers in registry.

Wil it break your old projects ? . . . I don't know (I'm not a Sylenth user), but somebody else can better answer this.

If you are too afraid to break your system, let me know, and I'll install Sylenth to give you a list of things to remove.
(Give me a bit of time: I'm slow)

I am using Windows. I will try regedit and Launchy I guess, unless someone knows exactly which files to remove without using them. Thanks!

As for breaking project files, if you or anyone can help with that, I would be grateful. I don't want to have years of project files suddenly broken because I changed Sylenth version.

you can rename the sy2. to other + rename the key file to random file .
to remove the file completely you should go to windows control panel , then uninstall it.
then check Program-files x86. and program files x64. it located in "vst plugin" or "steinberg" folder
    and check the C:\ProgramData\

    Hi Brick

I installed Sylenth in default place witch is : C:\Program Files\VST plugins (on my x64 win 10 machine)
The installer created 3 new entries in registry.

    All 3 located at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WOW6432\*****************

    So
1 uninstall Sylenth with win's own tool (or any other uninstaller)
2 Check C:\Program Files\VST plugins to see if the uninstaller has done his job right (I think it will)
(for the case you installed your version in default place, otherwise, you'll have to search)
3 open regedit and search for Lennard digital or Sylenth in location above (you should find at least those 3 entries)
    and delete them
(there may be other entries with the data Sylenth in them - ignore it's not important (last locations, uninstaller, bla bla) )
And you're good to go (normally, see below)

BE AWARE: those unofficial releases (craked software) come very often with custom installer.
Those may install things in different locations (for the same program, but different team)
So there's no certitude (your version may be different than the one I was able to grab)

For your last question. Well . . . make a backup of your projects before any changes on your machine
(maybe the answer lie on developer's website)

Forgot to update here. I bought it some time ago and everything went smoothly. I uninstalled old version but I noticed there was still a license.dat file in C:\Program Files\Vst Plugins & C:\Program Files (x86)\Vst Plugins. I manually deleted these folders, then went into the registry and removed all entries relating to Sylenth1 & Lennar Digital. Some of them (such as the references to it in FL Studio plugins database) might have been overkill but I removed them all anyway.

Installed new version and it was perfect. Hope it helps someone! Don't forget to remove the license.dat file as the uninstaller seems to leave this behind!

PS. All my old projects loaded just fine thankfully!
