The following is not about SLS, but I think it fits in the subject nonetheless and is a little less political correct:

A lot of people who defined the look and feel and quality of AS leaved AS lately. I don't think AS would be the same in a year from now. And I don't think there are (enough) people to maintain the quality the site has had for years now. At least me, as I'm not the greatest musician and far from being a pro.

I think there are different reasons to leave AS but one is addiction:
Some or all of the people with many, many posts who left AS, that's because they felt they have become AS addicts. I'm on that way myself. AS takes too much room in my 24 hours.

There are different ways to deal with it. If I'm aware of developing an addiction I could

• define a maximum time I would consume AS. Or I could
• define subjects I would and others I won't take care of. Or
• AS would never be the first and never be the last page I surf to on the net daily.
• Not participating discussions I'm too touch for (today)

And so on and so forth.

The ultimate decision would be to leave a community if everything else failed.
I'm afraid most if not all of the people scared to develop an addiction took leaving as the first and only step.

But is this decision the right way to deal with it? I don't think so.

It's like if I'm a heavy smoker and decided I must end this addiction. And the first step would be cancelling contact to all other people who smoke. Isn't that a little bit unfair with respect to my friends.

Everyone who feels addressed should join us again or just not leave

 

Man really sad for all those colleagues who felt they had to leave.I start thinking that all of you , found a different place to share the knowledge thus leaving this forum.
