Hi!! I have a few songs I recorded on a 4-track Tascam a zillion years ago. Anyone able/willing to help me out by cleaning up these tracks with noise removal software? EQing won't do it. I actually have SoundSoap and a couple others, but my Mac blew up and girlie isn't being supportive at present. ;-0 The songs are a bit laughable, but special to me. It'd be sweet to hear them without all the tape noise and hiss. Any help is appreciated. If I had $ I'd offer it, but I'm poor.

Try a demo of Adobe audition or Izotope RX7?

I'm in two choirs: the RX7 choir and the Klevgränd Brusfri choir.

Boys, boys, boys, apart from the fact that, imho, noise reduction with a noise print works best,
and I seriously doubt that any of these methods will work with a blown up Mac. Just sayin'.

I guess the Tascam would be a reliable side piece, since a lot of folks seem anxious to slap digital renditions of tape on tracks you have a solid head start. should be easy to clean the hiss to unleash the wholesome magnetic essence  If you want to go ahead and post and I can go ahead and scrub on my backup comp. Should have the main back tomorrow anyway also, I'd like to check out the sound of cassette 4 track on my monitors and would be a pleasure:bow:

Thank you so much. I tried to PM you, but I was blocked by your mighty fist. hehe
I would be very grateful. I've produced several CD quality tracks over the years and have written many new songs that I hope to record. But, these are my first songs, and it would be amazing to hear my intentional noise instead of the noise noise. What's the best was to get you the files? I can be reached by PM on here or email: [email protected]

Thank you all for the excellent suggestions. At present, I am unable to do any work on a computer. Once I'm up and running again, I will certainly experiment.

I can't help you with the noise reduction but if you also have these flutter effects, check out Celemony Capstan.
It costs like 4000$ or 200$ for 5 days but it's still pure magic to use. And R2R once did a release of that so you could
    also try it for free.

If you still need help, I can clean them up if @KungPaoFist still has issues with his workstation

Workstation fixed:) I took a crack at those files and tried some additional enhancements, really digging tommyzai's material and working with the tape audio files. Think I'll have to pick up a tape recorder myself, hopefully blank cassettes don't cost as much as studio tape these days.

A friend of mine tried passing his mix bus on a tape and the re-record it back to the daw for mastering, but I don't know if it had made an impact on his tracks cause I've never heard the before and after. But for one thing I'm sure. You 'll definitely get some harmonics

I'd like to try and see what it does on the master buss but I think I'm more interested in sub group experimentation within a mix for crunchifying at the moment.
