I've tested every articulation, every layer, every pedal noise in every mic position. I have even tested every FFS link.
I've spent more time testing these libraries and plugins than for the developers to create them.

I just look at the pages then run away.

I'd say about 70%. Because I sometimes don't have time to test new things. Sometimes you just say "yeah! I should try this and see what it sounds like!" and then forget about it. It is not that simple to introduce new software into an established setup. I'm not saying most of the people here have established setups... But I do. It helps with productivity immensely.

And even if I wanted to answer, I don't think I have a way to calculate that.

In case you really wanna know (and I'm sorta curious about these numbers on a larger scale too):

30% of the plugs/programs, and i've become very regular with updates to plugs i use. we're so spoiled.
15% of the archived/free plugs
15 or so PDFs in total. interesting books flow through all the time. john cage just recently, philosophy of music and sound, DSP, and all those C*mputr M*sic-type mags with the long-form tutorials. those 120+ page E*e*t*o*ic M*s*c*an tutorials about one thing/program/process are proper books in thmselves
Maybe 7 or 8 kontakts, total
maybe 10 sample packs. they're usually smaller, free foley-type ones

the counting stats cover 1 year

 

to be honest, I haven't tried any Cubase AI or Elements version since v7, even if I downloaded each and every release. Almost the same with Waves which updates I testdrive once a year or two.
Not to mention that I download win staff as well even though I'm a Mac.

What is your workflow like? 70% is huge.....i mean even if its close to that

i'm at 0.00000000001% and i don't know why its so tough for me to start checking all this out.
