Excellent video and song. Who is the artist?

The title of the album is borrowed from this British-Sri Lankan poet's collection of poems, which in turn was borrowed from another author, click this for an interesting read, and if you love art you could get a copy of the poems and listen to the album...if we knew the artist's name... or is it you Eliot?

 

Yeah, I'm the artist. I know that phrase appears in many different places, but I took it from "Henderson the Rain King" by Saul Bellow. It means "I want to live."

 

I love the sound with a nice punchy sound the video is interesting.

I googled the title because I wanted to know what language it is. I still don't know. Is it an African language? Which one? People will be curious and then discover what i discovered. Do you want that, or not care about that? Or do you want peolpe to discover the origin of the meaning of your work in order to help them understand it? It's a 'big ask', a high-brow approach that might not work for Pop.

 

I always figure that people bring their own experiences to a piece of work and get out of it just what they need.

Like I said, the phrase came to me through that Saul Bellow book, and it really resonated. It's the story of a man who, sick with who he is, decides to change his life, so he heads to Africa. Here's a synopsis:

Can you please go a bit more in depth about the whole album regarding recording and mixing?
Most of the singing is sampled, am I wrong? Regardless, it's good

 

I recorded it mostly at home and either played, sang or sampled things. I also have some friends singing all throughout, and a few sampled vocals. I mixed and mastered it myself ... I pretty much just do it all by feel. I'm not much of a techie, so I try to just go with sounds good to me. It might not be someone else's thing, but I have to go with what feels right to me. But that changes all the time ...
