Hi!
On my PC (Win 7), I have some FabFilters plugins installed (probably R2R). FL Studio found 11 of them (see screenshot).

I'm thinking of buying some of these FabFilter plugins (someone offered me a much lowered price)

1) How to uninstall the cracked FabFilter plugins and remove them completely, so I have no problems after I install the legit ones?
(in Windows control panel there are no uninstall options for any FabFilter plugins)

2) If I buy e.g. legit Pro-Q2 and Timeless2 will they work well with cracked Pro-L , etc in a session ?

To remove them, or rather disable some or all of the FF plugins, you have to start regedit and erase any Fabfilter keys in the registry under HKLM/Software and HKCU/Software, and this is the most important thing because you will lose all of the registrations that way. Now you can proceed to install your legit bundle and it will overwrite your patched plugins, and make new registry entries. Pretty simple, eh?

If you only bought some plugins and want to keep the cracked ones, too, just keep the registry keys of the cracked ones you didn't buy, and erase the registry keys of the bought ones. Then install only the plugins you bought.

I won't describe how to remove them completely, because it is really not needed.

But can I simply search for dll files of cracked plugins on my hard drive, and delete the dll files?
Then, (without erasing any keys from the registry) simply install legit plugins?

Will there be no problems if I do just that?

Well, if you don't remove any registry entries, then the legit plugins you install will be wrongly registered, in other words - not registered. You should then register them with your legit registration number and it should overwrite the keygenerated-pirated registration number in the registry... It should actually work, but the plugins will "see" the wrong registrations you entered before when they were patched. It's just not the cleanest way to do it because you never know what the plugins do when they see pirated registrations, but yes - it should work, too. You don't have to bother with deleting patched DLLs, as they will get overwritten in any case, too.

And can you give me instruction on how to remove the keys from registry?

 

Start Regedit.exe, the easiest way is if you have enabled "run" command on your start menu, then you just press "run", enter "regedit", and press enter.

In Regedit, doubleclick HKEY_CURRENT_USER, then SOFTWARE, find FabFilter key and open it, delete the keys of the plugins you don't need by pressing right mouse button on it and choosing "delete". Same procedure with HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE tree.
