No doubt a lot of it is intentional! Some bands were controversial on purpose, as a ''parody'' way of passing a message, some were controversial just for the negative attention, and some were created to spread ''corruption''. It doesn't always have to be ''conscious'' in order to have the desired effect. There is often people behind the scenes, influencing, introducing...
The people who do this intentionally benefit from those who imitate them. But you don't have to be a groupie, someone can enjoy from many different styles and it doesn't have to show.

It seems worse nowadays, with some artists who seem to be puppet victims of mind control, much more explicit, but is it that new? Remember Michael Jackson? Who would benefit from manipulating like that?

Stupid people must be programmed by an evil or whoever. Another question is:

Are most people naturally stupid or your evil makes them stupid? I'd say both but the natural stupidity is more dominant.

Shoko Asahara, the leader of the Aum Shinrikyo doomsday cult had highly-educated, scientifically-trained acolytes doing his bidding, subjecting themselves to his ridiculous commands and very brutal punishments...smart people are easy to manipulate precisely because they think it could never happen to them...it's not about your brain, it's about your ego, your pain...if your son was dying and I told you that if you buy this ointment from me and rub it on his forehead he'll recover, you will buy the ointment from me....even if you were a theoretical physicist...

DON'T OVERESTIMATE YOUR INTELLIGENCE! THAT'S YOUR EGO!

You must be a rookie, since you're avoiding large diaphragm microphones... :rofl:Don't worry, you will be able to use those in creative ways with time. Patience and perseverance, young Jedi.

I'd suggest SM57 for beginners, actually.

I don't know what EGO means but stupidity means:
    Laziness in cognition and Credulity.

They are interrelated and underlying parts of stupidity.:guru:

The Aum Shinrikyo cult members were far from stupid:

"The doomsday cult successfully recruited a number of highly educated young people, including doctors and scientists, some of whom took part in the crimes — a fact that particularly shocked the Japanese public."

And there were lots of them:

"By around October 1988, the number of lay followers surged to between 3,000 and 4,000 and that of live-in followers was estimated at between 100 and 200."

    https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2...uru-shoko-asahara-hanged-mass-murder-reports/

    Were they all stupid?

What every person does, feels, learns or believes can be broken down to a really simple statement.

Each person will do what works for them at that point in time, with what other people thinking of them them or believing of them being irrelevant unless that is the only thing that drives them.

Isaac Newton lived in 17th century. I don't think there were many atheists in that age. They got burned on a stake, or got rid off in other ways. It's really hard to estimate how enlightened Isaac Newton was for his time, although yes - he believed in superstitious shit and that's a fact. However, his contributions to Physics at that time were great and progressive *for the time*. Nowadays every teen *should be* [not Americans though due to incredibly lacking education] easily able to come to same conclusions just by watching nature and writing down conclusions. His observations are based on just that - watching nature behave. Therefore it is not hard to accept that he was also a bit superstitious and stuff... I believe that even hard core atheists have always a bit of agnostic somewhere deep inside, because it's in our nature to be superstitious. It will take generations upon generations to eradicate that shit.

Absolutely. You're allowing certain same thoughts, images, lyrics/message to enter your mind everyday. Eventually you can start ignoring the bad side of the message if there is one.

It's like doing something bad. First time you do something wrong, you feel terrible. The more you do it, the less guilty you feel. After the 10th time, you start ignoring the fact that what you did is bad and it's a normal thing (even though you know it).

The same applies with music. It can creep up on you and change you. That's why what you allow yourself to listen to is so important.

Just my opinion. But i've seen people's personality and morals change after listening to certain artists and styles of music.

We're talking about psychological manipulation. Being implanted with ideas and beliefs that serve someone else.

You could have easily overturned Cartesian mechanics with "action-at-a-distance" just by looking at the universe too!
So why haven't you done it?

Isn't that what we still do? Learn from observation. How much do we really know about the Universe, or nature, or Earth? Observation is not a sufficient proof of anything. Only to a caveman. That's why we have theoretical Physics and "real" [observational, or empyrical] Physics nowadays. Interesting Q. I'll have another glass.

    Especially Fux News, eh?

I'm not being offensive. Trying hard to make a joke. I actually think you have a point there. But music is something people don't take too seriously, in comparison to news, unfortunately. It's a sad state of affairs that the news, or news channels, or forums we choose to watch define our beliefs. But anyway, I think music at least to some extent defines our beliefs. Everyone's. No, I don't believe that people commit suicide just because they listened to some suicide sounding or just depressing lyrics. There's always something deeper that drives them to it. Hell, I was a fan of Judas Priest, and look at me now - still alive, although depressed, but I've always been like that. The exact shit we're talking about here makes me depressed. But it should be discussed. That's what makes our society progress.
