Split the L/R signal using a Mid/Side converter. Send the mid to the Center monitor. Send the same Side signal to both L/R monitors. Job Done.

This is probably bollocks.

 

Send the track to 3 busses and apply the plugin "Voxengo PHA-979" to all busses with different settings.

 

What will be the Mixdown L and R routing ?

I don't want L/C/R only. I want the left channel to carry only what's unique to left channel and same with the right channel. By using ISOL I am getting the Left and Right channel including what's common between them. Any solutions ?

 

If you do it the way I described it (in my posts #6 & #8 and #20), you'll get exactly this result.

What the left and the right side have in common is called Mid in m/s processing. Side, in m/s processing, does not contain any Mid signal.
So this:

is wrong.

 

Nope ! Don't tell me the lingo, tell me the procedure. I solo-ed the Left and Right Channel and the Mixdown, they sound exactly similar.
Please mention the Routing of Mixdown L and Mixdown R.

 

Are you sure you did this:

M/S processing does not work with mono signals (IOW, you need to route Mixdown 1 L and Mixdown 1 R to all three channels (LCR), ofc).

Following this thread closely, hoping there may be a solution to getting a stereo recording using a mono outboard compressor somehow. Probably not but this process seems pretty close

 

My main problem is that when I think I did the job correctly and I start playing the mix, the left and the right channel have the same signal. Only the center elements like kick and vocal are not present. But if the left and right channel carry the audio unique to them the the left and right signals must be different, right ??

 

But you still haven't, sorry.

Firstly, the two Mixdowns have to be panned, ofc, otherwise ther is no side info for L and R!
Secondly, small mistake, third ISOL8 isn't set to side/diff.

 

Sorry my bad ! But even after correcting it, the result is the same and yes, I have panned them 100% to left and right.

Partly, with a single stereo file (I just hadn't any dual mono ready) and tow instances of ISOL8 for L and R, like it described in my first post and that worked.

Doing a LCR, three chan. print is actually not as straight forward as it seems. Brauer-izing might be what your looking for. 3 chan. MS print will give you somewhat of a separation approach with the main signal on L&R and a separate chan. for the low and mid lows in mono but it will be a stereo signal regardless how you print it from there.
The correct way in my opinion is to bus, whatever busses you have mixed to, into 3 main busses for print, either by aux or direct. They can be mono or stereo. And treat those three stems accordingly. Three mono busses will give you the most separation while preserving the option to pan a single signal to either 1 or 2 bus and the low end to the 3 bus. Ergo 3 mono files printed.
Another approach could be to mix into a couple of st. busses before sending those to one separated stereo bus and one mono and print those. Ergo 2 files, one stereo and one mono.
Or you could go mono all the way and just mixdown into 3 separate mono busses which you then print. My 2 cents ... and many ways to rome.

I did it !
1. I made three stereo channels (Left, Center and Right)
2. I sent the L and R versions of the mix to all the 3 busses and panned the sends 100% left and 100% right. All sends are pre-fader.
3. On the Left buss I decreased the center gain to 0% with A.O.M. Stereo Imager D and increased the side gain 200%. Then I used ISOL8 to select only the Left channel.
4. Did the same as above with the Right buss.
5. For the Center buss I decreased the Side gain to 0% and increased the Mid gain to 200%. Using ISOL8 I selected the Mid.
6. All the Stereo Busses are panned to the center.
7. I got the result I needed !!

Two negative effects of this method are :-
1. The plugins have taken 10% of my cpu usage.
2. They have introduced a 92.9ms latency into my project.
