Hello audio lovers,

I have been moved to France from Austria for 6-7 months and did not get to work on my music as much as I was hoping for.
How ever, since 2 weeks I have found some working rythm and this one is the first track I almost got finished. Did a lot of the mixing on headgear so I will have to do that properly the next days, but I am already quite satisfied with the result and wanted to share it with you.
Looking forward to hear some opinions on the music and my mixing. Advises and hints are very welcome.

The lyrics could be translated like:

I like how you do the the voicing. Reminds me a great movie (Ratatouille).

 

So far so good and everything sounds all in a row. I like the vocal sound that you're getting, really nice and smooth highs as if you are using a ribbon mic and a pre/compressor with lots of color. What are you using on your vocal chain?

It is actually an AKG C414 XLII which goes direct into a really old M-audio fast track ultra.
For mixing the vocal I have used: Fabfilter Deesser -> Arturia 1973 pre -> Lindell TE-100 -> Fab Pro C2.
Also as sends Ive de-essed the Reverb quite a lot and I have two sends added, one with a lot Air by using Te-100 again with +12db 6,5k up (de-essed...), and one with the Arturia V76-pre adding gentle some hard saturation.

@Karlsplatz .. Thanks. It must be the V76 adding the nice color. It doesn't sound modern, but in a good way. In the early 90's I used an AKG 414EB with the brass capsule that was my all time favorite on my voice. What you're doing is reminiscent of what I was getting back then...I like it.
