Hi everybody,
For the Black Friday I got an offer from Plugin Alliance,bx console N for 129$ and bx console SSL4000G for 149$ .
I love the Neve sound from what I've heard but I don't know this plugin (bx console N for newbies) yet.
I've ever used the Waves SSL4000G and I found it a bit aggressive.but I don't know the Brainworx one either.

I would like to know what do you think of these 2 plugins,especially if you already own one of them;your pros and cons,what would you chose between the two,please?

I was thinking to buy the bx console N but I'm waiting to read you before.

I will try the demo of course.

I own all those 3 plugins and i have to say i'm pretty happy with them, sound amazing, i love BX-G <3
Simply you can put them on anything, and get the fantastic sound! ahh that THD knob (total harmonic distortion)
If you go for the G you will get the E dynamic section as well (i think)

I cannot tell you that which one you go for, because tastes are different!
You are not going to lose anything with this purchase, they worth it

 

I own the three emulations from Brainworx, and no use anymore since I move to SSL Native v6, for me, the best process bundle.

 

I've tried the BX-N and the BX-G and I like both,but each is very different.

The dynamics section of the Neve seems versatile,the gate can be punchy and usefull for shaping drums,the EQ sounds very unique to my ears,characterful when you haven't used it yet.I like how each channel has its own sound,good idea to implement that!
But the HP and LP filters have a strong slope.

On the BX-G,at the first try the G compressor has a big sound!On bass parts it could be perfect.I prefer the Neve gate.The EQ sounds interesting to my ears;before my first try I was certain the Neve is better but they are just different,I think the BX-G is more versatile with its two EQ shapes,but I need to try them again!The SS-G sounds big,once again.Anyway this emulation sounds very diferent of the Waves one.

I like the V-Gain on both,subtle but usefull for "glueing" tracks together and sound authentic,like the THD.

Do the SSL V6 sound different from the old SSL Duende native?I didn't like them in the past.

I tried all 3 from BX. Still I still prefer Waves version. You said that it's a little bit too aggressive, still I like the result I get.
As I think it's all about experience&taster nothing more here.
Also check their Plugin Pack subscription. Great thing! ;)

I listened to you finally,I've suscribed to the pickpack.I have 10 amazing plugins,the 3 consoles,Elysia Karacter,the last Elysia Phil's cascade(incredible nice and smooth saturation,I already love it),Townhouse compressor,Bax EQ,Black Box HG2,BX Room,BX Delay.
It's like a dream!
