sry my syntax... the s3200 has muddy sound and thats good so imho...the mud leads to great dirty grid on low freq...also for drums good...

..the s3000xl should have cleaner sound and very nice filter...

xl means not xl....its just newer generation of s3000 s3200........s2000 is also a xl though its not stated..

the second s3200 was cheap cause defect floppy drive...i pulled it out and did fck around with the hfe floppy emu...flashfloppy firmware and hxc s3000xl images were buggy so pulled it out too..you can get it going but..no time waste no more ... scsi2sd is the shit anyway , not floppy emu...
i putted the defect floppyfrive back in and voila ...working....maybe it just needed a few spins from hand to get runnin
:drummer:do you kno how long i did thinking bout how do process best and now its working..lol...
i got a scsi hdd in s1100 and now i get scsi chain xyrom devive and do it like sinewave...and in a year or so i get scsi2sd...before i buy to expensive rip off black display which is so killing it peroid

a s3200 is heavy ...a s1100 even more....later later i will tell you which i like more on low freq

Reminds me of when i was trying to keep my S2800 going by upping ram and finding info in late 90's. Not much on internet back then. I upgraded to 8mb ram for like $130 which was a steal back then. Prodigy used these a lot (still might). I think mine has a extra board I never could find out what it was for. Might have to dig it out of closet and have another look see. I would sell if anyone interested.

This entire thread is full of good knowledge about this series, I'm following for wisdom. I think I'm in the market for Akai's 12bit range though.
