    Simplicity and repetivity.
Just like a certain member's post, ironically.
We either love them or hate them. But we sure remember them.

I smell a haiku. It reeks of memorability.

it's a fucking shit music you can hear on the radio 100 times a day so at the end even if you don't like, you will. That's the power of marketing.

I used to think it was quality and all of the things that make up great music.
Unfortunately, anyone that has been exposed to an annoyingly almost terrible 30 second TV commercial, who then finds themselves humming or singing the advertisement afterwards wanting to slap themselves, supplies the true answer.

The sad answer is anything that a specific person finds appeals to their musical mimicking sense.. Of course music each person enjoys they will also remember because they also play it a lot.

This "99%-free-brain-capacity is a mordern myth. Newer scientific studies prove that a normal human being is using almost all of his/her brain capacity.

Maybe people still using the myth are driven by only 1% of theire synapses, but they may need to see a doctor :hahaha:

For those without the 99% brain-damage:

Music without the memorability trait would be converted into a dead art in the near future. Any of us can now deceive ourselves and not pay attention to what makes any piece of art memorable and stay happy and contented with our ignorance for whatever reason but the time is so brutal and will eliminate any superficial kinds of arts.:)

BTW, common people's memory can not be a safe place to rely upon and save the splendid art forms in it. They even don't know what "splendid" is.

actually they do, most people tell you they remember the "hooks", even if they have no idea what artist it is, if you play some mainstream "successful" music, most people will tell you they know it
