My top 3 would have to be Omnisphere,VPS Avenger, Serum....

AAS - Tassman, Chromaphone, Ultra Analog
KV331 - Synthmaster, Symthmaster One
Bitwig - Sampler, Phase-4

Dune 2 is still the best for me.

 

Most of the time:

Zebra - Bazille
Alchemy - Reaktor
Helix - Spectral

Less often:
Ana2 - Omnisphere - Chromaphone & String Studio - Nave & Serum and Thorn - Amaranth's Cycle

Sometimes the good old Gunther Hager synths (HGFortune)

 

LOL, I forgot to mention Dune 2. It's a really great soft synth for when I need to make some interesting, modern sound. Kinda like Spire, for me.

 

My hardware synth is my favorite but when I want to use my favorite plugin (Crusher X) with a midi track, I use the free FB303. Probably, well certainly not the best one out there, but it works every time. I hate the experience of laying out big bucks for buggy software, so I tend to just use free software, and the FB303 has stuck where many others have been deleted.

 

For some reason I am drawn to the Buchla Easel V for it's quirkyness.

My most used are Diva, Juno 106, Oddity2, ImpOSCar2 & OP-X PRO-II.

I also like the Solina and any other String Machines.

Can anyone recommend something like Diva but for modern sounds? I'm mostly looking for good pads, plucks and lead sounds.

 

Future Audio Workshop Circle2 is my favourite [semimodular] synth, really user friendly interface, wavetable oscillators, great sounds + fx

 

What can't you do with Diva that you wish to get out of another modular synth?

 

Don't really have a favourite, but lately I use Zebra the most. Otherwise Sylenth and Serum, and I really like Chipsounds, but I can't use it as much.

I don't use it much but I was very taken with the sound that Dmitry Sches' Thorn produces. A much deeper synth than first meets the eye. It's where I'd go next rather than Diva or Serum. In some ways it's the synths nobody talks about that can offer the widest horizons. Where the street have no names sort of thing.

I already said what I said ..now I have more of a question: Sylenth 1 was a huge thing, but (long story short) I just don't find it as inspiring anymore (v3.04xxx..). No technical reason. It just happens ..like with a gf, you know..;)

What would you consider a Sylenth 1 "replacement" (same synthesis type, quality..). Many said Hive, but I'd like to hear other opinions.. tnx
