    Hi,
I just tested Looperator but I have a big problem: I can not change the settings, as soon as I click on play, the presets default settings are recalled
Does anyone know how to handle this ?
    Thanks

    Hi massichat,

are you possibly recalling your presets via the "Remote List" by using MIDI notes?
In case that the 'Remote list' is activated please note that it will call the different factory presets placed in the Remote List.
Which means if you possibly modifiy a preset "on-the-fly" it will not automatically save your changes to the current preset placed in the Remote List but to avoid that your changes get lost after you make a change on your preset, press and hold 'Insert' , while pressing a MIDI key to store it on that key. With 'insert' I mean the Insert key on your computer keyboard, on a german keyboard it's 'Einfg'. Or go into the prglist, right click the entry and choose 'insert current preset'. This should do the trick. ;-)

If not, maybe send us a proper email to support[@]sugar-bytes.de and give us some more information to figure out what's going wrong.
Do you mean the standalone or are you using Looperator within a DAW (which one)?
And where do you exactly press play, in Looperator itself or in your DAW? Any hint will be helpful.

    Best,
    Nadine

    Hey Nadine Purrmann !

It worked, thank you very much!

I spent a good hour creating effects and assign them to midi keys, but after clicking on "play", everything disappeared, it almost drove me crazy!

To answer your question, what I did before: I activated the midi mode, I chose a preset, dragged it on the remote list, modified until it suits what I wanted, and so on until you have gathered about thirty personal effects, but after hit "play" buton of the host, it recalled the default presets :suicide:

Thanks to you (pressing the "insert" key when playing, no more problem :)

    Thank you

But it's a stupid limitation, it means that we can't test anything before saving the preset, whenever we make the slightest change, we must always remember to not click on play before saving the preset.
it kills any craving for creativity and experimentation.

    Hi massichat,

yes, we understand your demand, which would give you a more full and spontaneous control in a live situation, but basically we don't want the user to overwrite the factory content. That's why there indeed is no simple auto-save function which just overwrites the factory presets. We personally don't find this behaviour very unusal or very time consuming and there is another general problem with that, if you come from within your DAW project. Then your current preset state isn't really connected to a file and the save is maybe not possible. A lot of complexity as you can see but we'll take your feature request and see what we can do about it in one of our big major updates.

    Best,
    Nadine

Thanks a lot for the clarifications.

I thought auto-save is a function built into the VST standard, am I wrong?

I thought that whatever the loaded preset and whatever changes were made, they will be saved in the DAW project by the host and will not overwrite the original presets of the plugin on the disk.

But if you say no, then I understand the difficulty.
    Have a good day

sometimes you cant disable the autosave functions, have yours tried the synth reveal sound spire? the synth itself not excellent and not bad, which provides nice drive filters can making nice bass sound, but i had gave this up just because it messed up my presets in earlier version

I think there may be a little misunderstanding here. Of course, the current preset (at least the last state it was in when your DAW project was closed) will be auto-saved with the DAW project! But as far as we know it's a common behaviour that after selecting the same preset from the factory preset browser of a plugin again it will load the factory preset settings instead of your own modyfied preset settings.

Now since we are speaking about presets you call up from the Remote List within Looperator it behaves just the same way as if you would select and load a preset from the factory preset browser of Looperator.
So before you drag a preset into the Remote List you should make your changes permanent for that preset. This can be done by either using the "press and hold 'Insert' while pressing a MIDI key" workaround or using the 'Insert Current Preset' function within Looperator. Therefore just right click on the desired key in the Remote List and choose 'Insert Current Preset'.

Just to make clear, the Remote List is actually not meant to be a User preset folder but a handy tool for calling up factory presets (or presets from the user folder) on-the-fly. So saving your own presets (via the internal save file dialog in Looperator) and then dragging the previously stored presets from the User folder into the Remote List would be the safest way to ensure that your own settings don't get lost.

    Best,
    Nadine

Indeed, that's what I thought at first and that's what caused my confusion.
After spending more time, I come to understand the remote list principle.
Now, I can say that I manage the modification of the presets without loss, thank you for your patience Nadine :)
