Hi guys!
Just plugged my MPK 88 in USB...works fine for playing any Vsti, no problem and correctly set up in Ableton..
However,I'm struggling with it to use it as controller for any parameters..
select MIDI in Live
choose the parameter to control
touch any knob on the MPK but it doesn't work!
I tried to go to the AKAI PRO website but it seems in maintenance, i got no access..
I'm on Mac OSX latest, normally it shouldn't be necessary to install anything, it should be direct..
Any clue how to set it up?

I guess it's a good idea to read the Live manual because the MPK88 is supported natively as a control surface.
Live > Preferences > Link/MIDI > Control Surface

Nana Banana, thanks for the link...don't know why, this morning it didn't work, no way to get onto the AkaiPro for downloading any manuals!
I will check this out right now!
ASAP i will close the thread when finished.

 

If you can't assign things when in midi mode it sounds like a fix could be to go into Ableton preferences/Link Midi section, find your device and then switch the "Sync" button to on.

Btw, I think this is a common issue as well so might be helpful to leave the thread up

 

KungPaoFist, thanks for the info,i dived onto it and this is working fine now...and yes, sometimes basic question are poping up...if it can help others,that's great!
By the way, i have been able to grab the documentation, this is really well explained how to do it...
