I am recently impressed by how JST toneforge Misha Mansoor sounds and feels. IMO it is the best amp modeler till now.

Fortin Nameless Suite Plugin seems to be also good but I have not tried yet From demos I like ToneForge Misha Mansoor more than this. :

That doesn't metal. tried multiple times. It's just ordinary. Probably good for a crunch or rock sound.

I know Kazrog since one month and I love this developer,his plugins sound incredible!!
For me he is the best.
He has A LOT of amp emulations.Did you try his RAM Fuzz?It is amazing.

Spot on, but if u want metal sound then go for Pod farm 2, Devil amp modeler pro & Amplion pro, those're useful on my part

I voted for Guitar Rig. Here is the breakdown of my Top 5. The top 4 are firmly in place, and all of them are my #1 from time to time. #5 might have to go. I am about to build out my midi rig, and that will play a big part in shaping my future opinion. Have you used midi to control these modelers? what's your experience? any advice? I am going to use a Behringer FCB1010, and various tabletop controllers for hands on tweaking.

1. Guitar Rig - Best interface. Best preset management. Sounds great. Everything right in front of you, and drag and drop interface invites experimentation. Starting to look a little dated, but who cares? Don't fix it, if it's not broken.

Pro Tip: Hit the little arrow under the power button on the right side of the amps & effects for additional tweaking.

2. Bias - Looks great, sounds great. Can not delete factory preset banks, and they are at the top, and you can't move them. Annoying! Amps & effects have nice simple layouts. Customization possibilities are amazing. I use Bias FX, Pedal, and Amp 2

3. Amplitube - Looks great, sounds great. Interface is just OK, not as intuitive as the others, but not too bad. Amps are beautiful, but so many knobs and switches on some of them(not a complaint), but I personally get tired of mousing around easily, and controlling with midi seems like it would be a nightmare, but we'll see. Of course I can just stick to two knob amps(Go Blues Junior!) LOL. Speaker section is amazing, maybe a little overwhelming. Preset management sucks, this is Amplitubes biggest flaw.

4. TH3 - Looks great, sounds great. Preset management is OK. If you make any changes to the current preset and try to switch to a new preset it warns you that you will lose any changes you made and asks if you are sure. I find this annoying as hell. If you know how to change this let me know. Midi capabilities look simple, but I will soon find out.

5. Revalver - Sounds Great. Looks OK. has A learning curve. Presets a pain. Not so inviting. Have to spend more time with it.

Some others I have tried.

Misha - Harsh, probably by design. Not my cup of tea. Uninstalled, maybe I'll try again later. I Plan on trying all of JST's stuff, but never seem to get around to it.

Studio Devil - Tried to like, did not like. I can't remember why. It was A long time ago.

Line 6 PODXT - Loved it, left the hardware behind, and so goes the software. I Would like to try Helix. I have POD Farm, but it is not installed. It probably beats Revalver, and I might just put it in Revalvers place. We'll see.

Brainworx their first Amp - Just OK, nothing spectacular. Awhile ago.

Kazrog - I tried to like it, just did not do it for me, it was awhile ago. I'll try again someday.

JamVox - Ok, Just not spectacular. I tried it awhile ago. It had real potential. Korg does great stuff. Any one use it lately?

Audified - Everything I tried sucked, it was a awhile ago.

Kuassa - Tried them all, uninstalled them all. I wanted to like them, but they just did not do it for me.

Waves GTR - Sucked. It was awhile ago.

Logic built in stuff - Loved It, but I went PC.

Studio one Ampire - Not good not terrible, was awhile ago.

I Tried Impulse Response Libraries they were a big pain in the ass.

Concerning Axe FX, I would buy a Kemper or Line6 before I'd buy their stuff. Seemed way overpriced, last time I checked. I left hardware behind, and I'm never going back. I was considering building a mini battery powered practice rig, but alas I don't really need it, and it would just be for shits and giggles. I'm Jonesing for the THR10x, for years now. I have a roland microcube, which I never use. I want to get into the phone or tablet rigs, but I don't have a need for it. I'm sure they are going to replace PC's for recording and live rigs soon. Oh snap! They already are.

Everyone has their own sensibilities and what tickles their ears. I prefer to use my two amps, both Vox when I can...the baby AC4TV and the larger AC15C1 with either an ancient Sennheisser MD21 from like 1953 or a Gefell umt70s depending where it needs to fit into a mix. Mostly I have been using Helix. I liked TH3 or Amplitube before that. Most of the others I have tried, but I get on best with Helix.

 

An important contender has been left out: UAD amp emus. Some of those are really, really good, especially the ENGL Savage 120 amp. It's very versatile and you get lots of tones. For bass, the Ampeg SVT 3 Pro is magical. These are my two favorites only surpassed by mic'ing a cab. They've become so useful to me that I sold my Marshall tube amp.

 

@mercurysoto, another bass sim I really like is the Henry Olonga Gallien-Krueger preset running through Nebula. It's a good one for getting the bass sitting well in a congested mix.
He also has an SVT Preset. I'd be interested to hear how it stacks up to the UAD one if you ever test both.

 

What about Kemper? The first video is blind, and second video has color coded transitions.

Could you find it in a mix? That's the beauty of a Kemper as a studio tool, you have one box containing hundreds of amps that cover multiple guitars and bass. It's the best piece of music gear I ever bought.

It should also be noted that this is not even the best example of a profile, the guy just profiled his own amp for the test. There are some top commercial profilers out there doing amazing professional work. The firmware has also seen many improvements since 2013 when this video was made.
