Hi All, im struggling to find a sound or kontakt library with sounds used in horror movies. looking for a horror/tension/suspense mood, its a specific sound like a reversed string brass, every time i try to recreate by reversing a brass stab it doesn't sound close and does not have that tension associated with movies in this style, any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

 

reverse a sustained brass or string sound w/a long fade out and add your own stab reverse+ rev crash at the end {beginning}? think layers



...keep searching; there are libraries catering to this request but making them on your own insures originality... & keeps it interesting!

@6ixcore Maybe you're thinking of the ubiquitous Richard Waters waterphone sound?

I don't know if you're down with dropping $200+ on a Kontakt waterphone library, or alternatively the Galaxy X convolution synth. They're out there.

However, for free there is an older 32-bit VSTi by Necromare called "waterphones". You'll find it in the list at this page underneath Percussion/Idiophone...

To install unzip both the dll and mse files to where you normally keep your vst plugins.
