Hi there. Lately I've been curious about Resampling/Resynthesis, it looks that you can tweak and twist an input sound and the final one is very diferent and amazing. Also I like that kind of distorsion that gives to the audio.

I'm looking for some advice/tips to play with my samples and synth sounds. I'm actually usind FL Studio and messing with Fruity Granulizer and Harmor(resynthesis). I would like to get a sound nearly robotic and raw, like transformers (XD)

So I hope to learn more about it here reading your answers.

    Thanks for your time :)

Resampling is just editing/manipulating sound, render/bounce/export/consolidate to audio, and repeat the editing/manipulation...as many times as you want, until you have the desired sound.

You can add an effect. Render. Then add another effect. Chop it up, re-arrange, reverse, stutter/gapper, add another fx, etc etc

If you want "robotic" (according to me) - try FM synths, formant filters, notch filters and distortion.

Doesn't Image-Line: Edison or DirectWave do resynthesis?
    Or Image-Line: Morhine?

Some of the well know Additive Synths can eg.
    Camel Audio - Alchemy

    Virsyn - Cube

Also - Expert Sleepers - Oomingmak

They deconstruct sound (Fourier Analysis) to extract the component harmonic frequencies (partials), then reconstruct it using additive synthesis but with a modulation matrix of envelopes, LFO's etc. to massage the partials.

In the last few months there was a major product released by one of the main-stream Euro developers, sorry I can't remember it's name now - bugger :snuffy:
But it is exactly a real-time resynthesis monster of a application.

Also do a search in the KVR forum.
Lots of related meat to chew on there!
