The original sounds louder, drums and vocs more upfront, probably due to saturation fx (and I think you can improve that), but when it comes to style and arrangement I wouldn't say the original is better, you did a good job there.

I think that what "irritates" me is the snare's rather dull sound, but this could also be a matter of taste.
I totally like that stereo synth. Great choice.

Btw, didn't know about splice before, interesting.

 

@No Avenger you wouldn't believe that I used Ozone 5 for mastering, I know all that pro mastering people are laughing right now, but it's really good piece of software

 

Years ago I used it too. As long as you know what you're doing and the result is good, why not?

 

There are things in 5 that they took out in later versions for some unfortunate reason. I do like some of the processing in the new stuff too though.
