Having a few issues with the latest Studio One (v4.1 on Win 10 by R2R).

First issue is quite a lot of plugins won't load since updating... Some either just don't load (nothing happens and I can just carry on), or it seems if I try to drag some onto the master channel S1 crashes.

I have tried reinstalling the plugins, and this doesn't change the situation. Have also tested the plugins in Ableton 10 and all run ok. AAX versions in PT also work Ok.

*Some plugins work ok, bt quite a lot don't. Softube bundle by AUDIOUTOPIA is where I first noticed the issue. Even Waves didn't work at first, bt now seems ok.

2nd issue is after loading in a few plugins the cpu starts fluctuating and the screen is flashing. I recall an issue with S1 v3 that was similar to this and was related to the video card driver by Nvidia (I think). I have the latest a nvidia driver, bt still have the issue.

Valhalla plate seems to be one plugin that triggers the flashing to start, bt only when it's loaded with other plugins. Runs fine otherwise.

A few others also cause the issue, bt I've not yet tested every plugin on my system.

*Both issues seem to exist exclusively to S1 v4.1 and not any other DAW.

Anybody else got these issues, or can suggest a fix?

 

I've a problem with Waves plugins too.Studio 1 v4.1 win10 pro.
When I pass with my mouse over waves' knobs I hear crackles,and my cpu is spiking from 10% to 90 or 100% with a buffer of 512 samples.It is a bit better if I increase my buffer to 1024 but still have unusual cpu spikes.
I only have this problem with Waves.
All my drivers are updated.
Seems to be a graphics issue.I use the onboard Intel U630 graphics.

At my first start with S1 I had problems with Fabfilter's spectrum analysers(Pro Q2,Pro G,etc..) which were halting a lot,and finished in crashing S1.Waves GUI were black.
Then I updated my graphic drivers,they work but still have the problem with Waves crackling..

I don't know if I must buy a specific graphic card or if my problem come from somewhere else...?
I'll wait for the next Intel graphics update and see what I do.

And for your A*U*pia plugins,did you try to simply tick,in S1 properties ,"run S1 in W8 compatibility mode" ?

try this,
disable network, reset blacklist, close program, open again and let it scan plugs

when done, enable network again.
run S1

you need to shut down internet and let it scan plugs without internet every time you add a new vst.

Just not working in S1 for you, or?

Mine still works in other DAW's.

i think it was mentioned before i really can't remember, but as others stated , stay away from w10 on a production machine , keep up with w8.1 as the best platform for music making as of 2018

It works flawlessly for me.
I just made my fav plugins thumbnails.
I was keep loading and loading and loading my VST-s and instruments after inserting about the 19th CPU heavy instrument it started to slow down but who would ever use 19 VSTi-s together at the same time...

Anyway I was just loading them because you have to insert the plugins you want to have a thumbnail in the Browser panel so I was stacking stacking stacking without any crash it was just a slower loading time after insert Heavier7Strings it was the 19th plugin.

I recommend DO NOT USE DPI scaling inside Studio One it fucks it up slows the GUI and the responsiveness of the knobs.

 

Everything works fine with latest windows 10. Seems like problem is on your side.

 

Just seems odd that the issue is exclusive to S1 v4.

I've done a bit more testing today and all the plugins I had issue with seem to work fine in other DAW's. I can also run the plugins in S1 through Bluecat patchwork without issue.

S1 seems to be the culprit in some way, it's definitely not happy for some reason.

 

Had the exact same problem as you w/ S1 4. Apparently it's possibly to do w/ gfx drivers or something, you can roll back to "fix". Buggy, unusable mess as is. At least S1 3 still works. Lets hope R2R can bugfix! Seems Presonus aren't too bothered...

 

Do you have the iLok Pace driver installed?

On my son's Surface Book & my laptop, went to services, stopped pace driver, set to manual (default is Automatic), rebooted.
Solved many issues including CPU spikes.

 

I have the similar issue. Autotune shows up on the right panel, but it won't work.

 

I think that might have smthn to do w/ high DPI settings or w/e? Change & retry?
