  3. I know, right? Last month I improvised a recipe for nam sod, and I feel like a total slut even just saying the sodding name.

  4. @black.afrika.zulu.x ... I agree with much that you say here, though one of the greatest reasons that there is a dearth of African American teachers is to do with that section of the population not wishing to become teachers....https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...educators-study-shows/?utm_term=.25267b7ae7ab

In my school district there were only two teachers of color, both of them our music teachers. One was working in my elementary school, Miss Butler and the other teaching musical appreciation classes to all the junior high students in my school. Booker T Gibson was one of the top three teachers I had in high school, a great educator as well as being a fantastic human being with the most contagious smile I have ever seen. I wish we had more people of color in education back then as all my role models were black (Walt "Clyde" Frazier of the NY Knicks, Emerson Boozer of the NY Jets, Bill Cosby who I then thought was the funniest man alive, H. Rapp Brown after reading Die Nigger Die and as well John Howard Griffin though he was only black for a short time while researching his amazing Black Like Me) and but that sorrowly was not and still is not the case.

By the way, the two teachers hooked up and were married which was a union made in heaven.

    1. Here's my theory for why Hip-Hop has turned into a slurry mess of 808 bass-heavy, synth-pop: sugar.

It starts with millennial Black boys raised on a fructose-rich, junk food diet giving their White, female teachers a hard time in class. Being White--having a socialised inability to empathise with Black boys--and being impatient with hyperactive, pre-pubescent boys, these poor teachers facilitate the over-diagnosis of these boys with ADHD. Of course, the problem is medicalised and now "disrupting the class" can be cured with a pill (or two)--a highly addictive pill.

So, these kids are prescribed all sorts of amphetamines for their ADHD; and then later they need benzodiazepines for the resultant anxiety and depression. Next thing you know they're snorting the Adderall and getting "geeked up" on Xanax. They're exposed to getting high at a very young age--and THEY LIKE IT! (Furthermore, some of their drugs are very sugary promethazine codeine mixed with Jolly Rancher's or Sprite).

Now, listen to their music: it can only be truly enjoyed if you're high. It has slightly sedated synths with a trance-like repetitiveness all the while moving at 160 beats per minute! Notice all the drugs that get frequent mention: Actavis, Percoset, Xanax, MDMA, etc...but, for the most part, no alcohol! Rappers in the past used to go on about Hennessey (especially 2Pac) and Dom Perignon and Möet (especially B.I.G.) but these kids are too young to drink and they were introduced to these synthetic drugs at a young age before alcohol. They look and sound like zombies--nihilistic, depressed, bloodthirsty, slurred speech.

      Don't you think?

    They don't hear you though!

  6. Read the Washington Post article. AMs are not looking toward teaching as a profession so cannot up the ratio. Can't be done.

@superliquidsunshine What I noticed growing up was that White teachers never saw Black boys as children but rather as villains...there was definitely no love coming from them, just a lot of veiled hostility... *sigh*

    Where da syrup at?

Well, one can become "a bohemian" - holds breath-...it's guaranteed that the role has been done many times before, with a varied ratio of success with substances involved or by the means of asceticism. Although the motto is pretty much the same, the rejection of conventions that influence one's emotional dashboard.

Producing Beats since 95. I'm pretty tired of boom bap nowadays but I like cloud/trap beats. Especiall if they have a blend of traditional drum sounds, "modern" patterns and current synth sound. Like Harry Fraud for example. But as far as the rappin' goes: ni*** please. I need bars and some real shit in the verse now and then. Sometimes I feel like, if performers would get any dumber than this, they could lose an IQ contest against an actual rock – and I'm not talking the ex-wrestller turned "actor". :D
